Most recent user reviewsScore 2 out of 5 Overpriced Dennis, San Francisco, CA, 2006-04-22 There's a Baker Square across the street, but other dining options are quite a long walk from the Riveria. The Riviera is overpriced for what you receive. It's a big property, and my room was very far removed from the parking area. It has the ambience of an old style Holiday Inn. Check in was good, but the staff was not particulary friendly. I overheard another customer with a complaint about poor interent connections in the hotel. The front desk clerk helping did not seem particularly interested in his problem. Overall, I was not very impressed with the property. Score 5 out of 5 ACCESSIBILITY harvey, 2006-03-28 WE ENJOYED THE RESTAURANTSAS A HANDICAPPED PERSON I REALLY APPRECIATED THE ACCESSIBILITY OF THE HOTEL AND THOUGHTFULNESS OF ITS STAFF. Score 5 out of 5 Family Friendly Brenda, 2006-03-26 You can walk to the restaurants and downtown. The stay was very nice, with one exception. A large , noisy family next door. Also, there were people down in the pool area drinking until 4 AM.... Score 4 out of 5 Nice for the money shireen, 2006-03-16 We took the San Andreas Jeep Tour. We paid $79.99 per person. We thought the trip was overpriced. It was "OK" but not worth more than $35-40 per person. This hotel was nice for the price we paid. The pool and jacuzzi were very nice. The bar and restaurant were also good. The main complaint we had was that there were some loud spring breakers making noise the night before we checked out. They were shouting and running through the halls. I thought that the hotel should have confined the spring break guests to another section of the hotel. This hotel is fairly large and they easily could have prevented this problem by keeping them all in one area. The hotel did agree to let us have a late check out the next day since we were up the night before. The hotel is also in an older part of town, but it is still close to the main downtown area. Score 2 out of 5 Review Anonymous, Los Angeles, CA, 2006-03-12 The only reason I chose this hotel was because it had tennis courts. When I arrived I asked about the courts for the next day and they just said that it would be raining all night and so they weren't likely to be dry. We woke up in the morning and the courts were dry but there was a private tournament all day long and the courts were not available to hotel guests. If you are going to this hotel for the tennis courts, I'd suggest making sure that they will be available for you. This trip however was not the same. The check-in employee was VERY rude. I talked to the manager who was sweet and she told me that they have been sold and the attitude of the employees have dropped. The rooms are horribly ran down, dirty, broken slider to deck, blow dryer cracked, etc. Too bad. I used to love this place. Score 1 out of 5 My review of Riviera Resort & Racquet Club Mark, Los Angeles, CA, 2006-02-20 There were a variety of restaurants nearby. We had heard that the Riviera had been the top spot years ago. It is a tired hotel. The bed was not very comfortable. The walls are paper thin and you hear every noise from all walls around you and from up above as well. The street traffic is very noisy with police vehicles and ambulances racing by with sirens at all hours of the day and night. We got no sleep at all. We left a day early because we were so tired from lack of sleep. Score 5 out of 5 family friendly Marcia, Los Angeles, CA, 2006-02-20 There is a selection to choose from which is great for all tastes.I enjoyed the lounge area where you could read, watch television or play pool. It was also located conveniently from the rooms to the front. Score 5 out of 5 Wonderful value for a resort - great location! Amanda, Nashville, TN, 2006-02-20 Our experience here was great. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The best part is the shuttle service to downtown as well as to/from the local airport. The food was pleasantly and surprisingly great. It was not your usual hotel food. There is a full breakfast buffet available, which was our favorite part. Views of the mountains are priceless. This was a surprise gift to my husband for his birthday - we had a great time thanks to the Riviera! |
