Most recent user reviewsScore 1 out of 5 Disgusting Anonymous Upon arriving at the hotel we couldn't help but notice the soap suds overflowing from the whirlpool tub and the lack of paint on the building. After parking the car and not seeing anyone in the lobby it became apparent that the woman sitting on the sidewalk about twenty feet from the locked lobby that was smoking was the front desk person. She opened the lobby and was very pleasant. We asked to see a room and she took us to a room that had a leaking bathtub with stains all over it. The stain problem was true of the sink and toilet. When we walked by the breakfast area there were cigarette butts all over the window sill to that room. The ground was littered with them also. The stairwell to the second floor was dangerous because it was chipped away and the carpet everywhere was old and worn out. We decided to go to another hotel and let everyone know of the situation; The hotel still had no vacancy displayed later that evening as it was immpossible to get a hotel in the area that evening. The hotel did reimburst one nights rental fee. However I am still waiting for my money from a second room that I rented. Score 4 out of 5 Good inexpensive hotel Anonymous, Los Angeles, CA Davey's restaurant was close-by.The Desert Lodge was a good value for the money considering the cost of other hotels near downtown Palm Springs. Score 4 out of 5 Great Rooms Sylena, 2006-11-12 downtown palm springs was really about a block away so we didnt have to worryThe Desert Lodge Hotel was very comfortable, we didnt stay in our hotel most of the time but we did like our stay there in over all, we rented two adjoining rooms so I got to see two different styles, I didnt like that our check in was a bit discomforting for some misunderstanding but in the end everything came out pretty well, i think that for the price we paid, our rooms could of been better handled Score 4 out of 5 Great views Anonymous, 2006-11-05 the location of the hotel is very convenient to the downtownI feel that this hotel was in need of an update and also needed to be cleaned Score 5 out of 5 Review Anonymous, Wilkes-Barre, PA, 2006-09-15 No review provided by user Score 1 out of 5 Not worth the money Charles, Philadelphia, PA, 2006-05-30 A 6 night stay at the Desert Lodge was unpleasant to say the least. On the day of check in my room wasnt ready till almost 7pm at night and having travelled all day to get to the west coast I was hoping to take a shower, which I finally got into about 7:30pm but had very very little hot water. Warm water maybe but far from hot Even though I had a Do not disturb sign on the door knob the cleaning staff was knocking at 9am to make up my room, I asked them to come back later to which they must have understood me to say dont come back at all since on that day and one other my room was never made up. I have many other stories, far too many to mention here, but would just add that "Breakfast included" can mean a lot of things but here it means - go elsewhere. Milk and juice were constantly empty and one morning while putting milk in coffee it was obvious that the milk was bad. The staff in response made no apology or comment but rather took the milk away and failed to return with a replacement Needless to say I wont stay here again and wouldnt under any circumstances recommend it to others Score 5 out of 5 Service Thomas, 2006-05-29 Palm Springs is known for it's shopping. The motel was small and older. I like this. The staff were personal and catered to my needs beyond most motels, and I travel alot. I can't wait to go back. Score 1 out of 5 Poorly maintained Anonymous, San Francisco, CA, 2006-04-17 Close to local restaurants and cafe. All I can say is that this hotel was very run down with unfinished rooms, ie. sockets hanging out of the wall, Plaster peeling, window shades broken,no stopper for sink, Hotel very run down looking.. On the positive side, Staff was friendly.. Score 2 out of 5 Grt for sleeping only Anonymous, 2006-03-07 Very convient for dining and short walk to Beautiful down town area. The Hotel had grt parking by door. Close to rockgarden cafe and was clean but older style. Do not count on hot water or fancy towels tho. Adequate but not where I would spend time except to nap or sleep.
