Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 nice getaway dale hotel was great, comfy, east access good bang 4 the buck. Score 4 out of 5 Review marty, Salt Lake City, UT Score 4 out of 5 Clean Edson The mexican restaurant next door is excellent and very good service. I recommend. The Caliente Tropics Resort is clean, but we didn't like the room smeel when we arrived, neither the noise after midnight, because the bar next to the hotel. We appeciated wonderful service at the mexican restaurant. At the Caliente the continental breakfast was cold and no hospitality; I think it was better don't offer breakfast. The newspaper at the room was great, it was the best hospitality that the hotel offers. The location wasn't good and made us worry about the safety at night. Score 4 out of 5 Ok Anonymous, Sacramento, CA Casino was just a short drive down the road. Good source of entertainment. The Caliente Tropical Resort was a decent place to stay... room was larger was comfortable feather beds and pillows. Only downfall was that our refrigerator did not work. Score 4 out of 5 out in the sticks Edward TOok cabs everywhere-would have been cheaper to stay at a nice place and not leave. Score 5 out of 5 Fun place to stay! Georgia, 2007-03-06 Everyone said to take the Tram & we're glad we did. But our hike thru the Indian Canyons (not far from the motel) was the best!My husband & I loved our 2-nite stay at CT. It was a trip back to old days of fun (not cookie cutter) motels. Staff very friendly & accommodating. Rooms clean & very nicely decoratedwith tropical theme. And who could top the great pool with its gorgeous mountain view during the day & tiki torches glowing at night? We're sure we stayed in Elvis's old room. If we're back, you're our first choice hotel. Score 5 out of 5 Nice Change of Pace Anonymous, Dallas, TX, 2007-02-26 Caliente Tropics was a nice change of pace from hotel chains. The room was spacious with plenty of closet and bathroom counter top. Very clean, bed was comfortable. Grounds and pool were well kept. Location is very convenient for navigating around Palm Springs. Only stayed there because all the hotel chains were booked but was pleasantly surprised by it's charm. Will return on future visits. Score 5 out of 5 Cheap and Cheerful Anonymous, Chicago, IL, 2007-02-02 Located on one of two main drives in Palm Springs, specifically the southeastern half, the Indian Canyons, Palm Desert Zoo, Rancho Mirage shopping etc are all very easy to get to by car. And you need a car in Palm Springs if you want to travel outside of downtown.UPSIDE: A very clean, friendly, relatively quiet motel with a very interesting history of the swingin' sixties (Elvis, Rat Pack et al). Downside:Pending upon where you are located this is a quiet to not so quiet motel. Great bang for buck though if you get a quiet room. Other people make noise walking by and smoking outside their rooms is obnoxious. Rooms could use curtains in addition to blinds for privacy. If you go in January/early Feb, this is a fantastic deal and Elmer's for breakfast is just down the road. Staff was delightful and very helpful. The bed is amazingly comfortable and the shower was so powerful I felt like I was getting a massage. OVERALL: I loved this place and would return again! |
