During your Hollywood vacation, don't miss these great establishments and attractions:
Pacific Asia Museum
The most striking aspect of this museum is the building itself. Designed in the 1920s in Chinese Imperial Palace style, it's rivaled in flamboyance only by Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Rotating exhibits of 14,000 rare Asian and Pacific Islands art and artifacts span the centuries, from 100 B.C. to the current day. This manageably-sized museum is worth a visit, particularly if you're an adherent of Buddhism.
Capitol Records Building
Opened in 1956, this 13-story tower, just north of the legendary intersection of Hollywood and Vine, is one of the city's most recognizable buildings. The world's first circular office building is often, but incorrectly, said to have been made to resemble a stack of 45s under a turntable stylus (it kinda does, though). Nat "King" Cole, songwriter Johnny Mercer, and other 1950s Capitol artists populate a giant exterior mural. Look down and you'll see the sidewalk stars of Capitol's recording artists (including John Lennon). In the lobby, numerous gold albums are on display. The light on the rooftop spire of the Capitol Records building flashes "H-O-L-L-Y-W-O-O-D" in Morse code. Really, it does.
Church of the Good Shepherd
Built in 1924, this is Beverly Hills's oldest house of worship. In 1950, Elizabeth Taylor and her first husband, Nicky Hilton, were married here. The funerals of Alfred Hitchcock, Gary Cooper, Eva Gabor, and Frank Sinatra were all held here as well.

Terrible Service

janet, Philadelphia, PA

The Ramada near Universal was very disappointing. The room was nice but our refrigerator was not working and we called for two days for a replacement that never came. When I finally got someone to come to the room they took it out, cleaned it and then brought the same one back still not working. When I went to the lobby and complained they brought a new one but once plugged in it kept going off because the electric was malfunctioning in the wall. Our clock radio would turn off and on at will and we felt it was somehow connected to the poor electric supply going into the room. The refrigerator problem was never solved. We asked for the parking to be taken off of our bill but was told he did not have the authority to do that but we could write a letter to the manager to see if he could do anything. That should not be my problem, it should have been taken care of right then and there. Also, the lounge was in the basement and on Friday night the 12th, you could hear the band on the second floor until 3:00 AM and apparently the 3rd floor complained as well but it was not stopped. I would not stay there again!!!

Nice hotel

Anonymous

Chinese theater is a quick cab ride away, also Univeral Studios is also a quick cab ride away, about 4 miles.

Hotel was close to Kaiser hospital which was where I needed to be at. It's also about 1 mile from the hollywood strip. Hotel had a nice bar and looked nice from the inside. Neighborhood isn't the greatest but they had a secure parking lot. Staff was nice and professional. Only bad thing was my room smelled like it had just been painted.

The Ramada in West Hollywood was a great hotel to choose. It was in a very convenient location to multiple tourist spots around LA. They were very helpful in helping us find spots that we wanted to travel to, and always were willing to help with any other question. I expected only a 1 bed in the room, when they gave us 2 which was a good surprise. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a good time in Hollywood!

My review of Ramada Hollywood near Universal Studios

Matthew, Uruguaiana, 2007-03-10

Free breakfast buffet-don't come too hungry!

While the room was plenty big, it was old and had a peculiar smell to it.

Met our requirements

Reasonably priced LA hotel for seeing the Hollywood sights.

The beds were extremely comfortable. The room, although not large, was comfortable and clean. This is a good hotel for people that are on the go in LA. The location was was easy East/West access to the Hollywood, West Hollywood area.

Great service

The service here is great! The rooms are also very clean and comfortable. However, the location of this site is not desirable. Also, there is no room service.

Very helpful with local info!

Drenda, Charleston, WV, 2006-12-30

Good location for our first visit to LA. Comfortable room and beds and excellent "Continental Breakfast"! Staff were friendly and offered advice when asked! Bathroom was cleaned and towels replaced everyday and the beds were made, so when we returned exhausted at the end of the day, we could just tumble into a nice fresh bed!
