Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 Cozy Quiet Retreat edward, Los Angeles, CA, 2007-03-01 Monterey Aquarium, 17 miles drive, Carmel by the SeaThe Quail Lodge Carmel was very comfortable. Our first night the temp. dropped to 36 degrees and our heat did not work. We called the front desk and they sent a main. tech. He spent some time fixing and said it takes a while to warm up. It never did and we were very cold that eveing. The next morning we were moved to the room overlooking the pool. It was very cozy and warm with the fireplace. The resort has some minor maint. issues, but we would probably stay there again. The staff was friendly and quick to respond to our concerns. The resort is about 6 or 7 miles from Monterey, 17 miles drive, etc., but we didn't find this a problem. Our pooches loved the resort and enjoyed the special attention they received when we checked in. Score 4 out of 5 nice room, poor service Anonymous, 2007-02-03 golf courseThe room was fantastic, and very comfortable. We asked for a internet cable, and it was never delivered. We called the next morning, and it still did not come. After a 3rd call, we received it. We ordered room service, but forgot to put our room number on the order. We realized our mistake, and let roomservice know. We also let them know we were in a hurry (husband had a tee time) and were told the order was on the way. 20 minutes later, we called again, and were told that the order was sitting in the kitchen. Finally got breakfast, and they sent only 1 order (we ordered for 2 people). The room service manager was very nice regarding the error, but there was obviously a communication breakdown. Nice people, just shakey service Score 2 out of 5 For golfers only Anonymous, 2006-06-05 Good for a quiet serene vacation.Quail Lodge is more like a condo type facility without kitchen. The view of the grassy area was nice, but at this time (June), the facilities and the dining room was not working. The location is nice if you are golfing, otherwise it is not walking distance to anything. The room was large but mediocre furnishings, a bit stodgy. Score 5 out of 5 Very relaxing, close to Carmel, Pebble Beach Charles, Charlotte, NC, 2005-08-22 If you like to hike or walk be sure to ask about the "Landrover Experience" 4x4 trails back behind the tennis courts...its a nice, quiet (though somewhat hilly) place to get some exercise. Our brief stay at the Quail Lodge turned out to be even better than the "very well layed out and informative" website that we looked at before booking our trip. The renovations gave it a new and luxurious feel and appearance. The food at The Covey retaurant was great and the service everywhere within the resort was first class. The golf course looked great, though we didn't get a chance to play. We did enjoy the putting and chipping course. Also, we were surprised how close we were to Carmel and Pebble Beach. Would go back for a longer stay! |
