Most recent user reviewsScore 5 out of 5 Very quaint inn with a helpful staff Sammy, San Antonio, TX The restaurant in the hotel was a happening placeWe enjoy quaint historic inns/hotels. The Pine Inn was well kept and updated and the stay was very enjoyable. It was convenient to all the shops, restaurants and sight seeing in Carmel and along the ocean. Score 3 out of 5 Very Mediocre Stay Anonymous, 2006-08-23 The hotle does have a good location with the beach only a few blocks away and plenty of galleries and restaurants very near by.I was disappointed by the Pine Inn. I was expecting an elegant hotel - a throwback to an friendly and classy time. What I got was a crowded 12' by 12' room with no view and lots of city noise. An excellent staff could have greatly improved our stay but sadly they were not cheerful, helpful or particularly warm. While checking in and out, the desk clerk never made eye contact with us much less offer a kind word. Parking is also an issue at the hotel. I heard a fellow guest ask the front desk what he should do since the hotel parking lot was full. He was quickly told that parking was on a first come first serve basis and he could park on the street as long as he moved his car by 9:30 a.m. - otherwise his car would be ticketed. The hotel does have a good location. It is only a short walk to the beach and all the galleries are very close by. That being said, I do not recommend staying at the Pine Inn. For the money I'm sure there is a better hotel experience nearby. Score 4 out of 5 A Taste of Old Carmel Anonymous, Los Angeles, CA, 2006-07-27 Beach, dinning, shopping, and art galleries, all near by.From the moment we stepped through the doorway, my husband and I were enchanted by the ambiance of the Pine Inn Hotel. Nestled in the heart of downtown, it has all the charm an old hotel can have. We wound our way up the narrow staircase to a comfortable room tucked away in a crooked little corner of the top floor. Our dinner was one of the best we had enjoyed during our trip up the California coast. Score 5 out of 5 Review Anonymous, San Francisco, CA, 2006-05-30 Try the Ocean Grill, 1 block away. Great wine menu, friendly staff and wonderful grilled selections.Score 1 out of 5 Review Anonymous, 2006-05-29 No review provided by user Score 4 out of 5 charming spot Anonymous, 2006-02-04 Very close to the beach (great run on Scenic drive), in the heart of downtown - lots or resturants, shops, art galleries etc.Hotel was charming -- resturant on premises was great. Great location. Rooms themselves a little disapointing (small, bed not the best, warm) - but in general a positive experience |
