We were given a room on the second floor inside of the building which provided for more security. It was a very clean and quiet establishment. The room was rather large and provided a fridge and small counter area right outside the bathroom. The staff was very courteous and helpful. I also like the location of the property because it was centrally located to downtown and the Beach Boardwalk. We checked in and left our car parked there. We were able to walk from the hotel to the Beach Boardwalk which is a few blocks away. And then a short walk from the Beach to Downtown where there were lots of shops, restaurants, and clubs to entertain the adults and a movie theatre for the rest of the family. From downtown, it was just a short walk back to our room at the Travel Lodge. The property is also well lite on the outside which provided safety when returning to our room at night. Score 4 out of 5 Good for the money Stephanie, Reno, NV, 2006-10-30 Don't plan on walking to the Boardwalk, especially if you have childrenTravelodge Santa Cruz was a comfortable hotel for the price. Housekeeping came into our room when the "Do not disturb" sign was on our door and took all of our towels and did not replace with clean ones. There is a great chinese food restaurant next door. Overall, we would stay again. Carpet ripped up, door to bathroom damaged, bed falling apar, bed spread and blanket very old and worn, shower in poor shape, TV in poor working condition. The check in was done quickly, but no information given about the hotel, ie... the pool, where breakfast was served ect.... Check out was quick, just gave the key back, no, thank you for staying with us, how was your stay...anything and the guy at the front desk was in an old tee shirt and looked like he just woke up <this was 10:30 in the morning> Score 4 out of 5 bare/basic necessities Michael, 2006-08-27 The beach is the PLUS for this area.It seemed to be overpriced but actually was relative to the other hotels in the area.We left at 8:00am the first morning and upon returning to the room around 3:00 found that the room was still not made up,this was an inconvenience since we had to report this to the office (which they immediately responded to) but we had to sit outside for about 45 min. while it was being made up. Score 1 out of 5 Not very satified Jeri, Sacramento, CA, 2006-08-10 Personally the noise level was to loud. I had trouble sleeping and I don't speak spanish. The direction I was given were confusing and incorrect. The AC unit went from very cold to warn without any manual ajustment. The iron I requested leaked and would not properly steam. I spend most of the time seeing the city and sites and use the room just for sleeping when possible. Score 4 out of 5 Ok place... Anonymous, San Francisco, CA, 2006-08-07 Friendly and helpful staff, small but somewhat clean room, would only stay there again if I couln't find anything better, still expensive for what it is, Score 5 out of 5 Great Family Motel pamela, 2006-07-26 This motel is very close to restaurants. There is a Chinese restaurant about 50 feet from the front entrance and more just a short distance away. The Travelodge in Santa Cruz is a great place to take your family. Ensuring their motel and visitors are kept safe is a great selling point to me. Score 5 out of 5 Review Krisnadi, San Francisco, CA, 2006-07-22 No review provided by user |
