Check ahead of time on when the park is open

good breakfast - surprised that the room was actually a two room suite! Close to LegoLand (Warning the park is closed on tuesdays and wednesdays during the school year!)

Not what I thought

I booked a two bedroom suite. The room smelled and was located above the pool where two soccer teams, one girls softball team, and their entire families were staying. The spa was green, not that we could enjoy it because it was overrun by the teams and their families. The pool was completely overrun by kids and there were no tables outdoors by the pool due to all of the parents sitting around watching the kids swim. There were kids running back and forth down the halls and finally at 10:30 pm (pool closed at 10:00 pm) I had to call the front desk to request that the PARENTS quiet down. The hotel staff were very pleasant though and kudos to them, they were able to quiet the parents down. The room size was acceptable and the room was generally comfortable except for the smell.

The room we needed

Inside the atrium was quite warm, even when it was 60 outside. Recommend going early to get table away from the windows - it fills up quickly.

The suite was exactly what we needed. We weren't going to spend much time in the hotel so I wasn't too concerned about the lack of space. Travelling with two small children, the pull out sofa was just what they needed. Great shower - roomy and shower head was quite adjustable - included a massage feature. Small kitchen was all that we needed for late nite snacks. Free breakfast in the Atrium could not have been better - included waffles, omlettes, a variety of cereal for the kids, sausage gravy & bisquits, and several juices, and coffee. Easy to find, and a good location.

Great Location

For those with children, Legoland is close by, and with a short drive to San diego, you have the San Diego Zoo, the Bay area and all sorts of attractions. A short walk will get you to the beach.

The Ramada in Carlsbad was very accomodating. The closet was spacious, the kitchenette was clean and invitng with coffee maker and coffee provided. Because I was visiting in several areas around the area, it was a good location for me to stay. It is close to the beach, not far from major restaurants and quaint specialty shops.
