La Costa Resort and Spa

Rated #1 Spa & #3 Golf Resort by Travel & Leisure Golf, this luxurious resort has the warmth and ambiance of a Mediterranean village. The clear intention of the staff at La Costa is to help their guests feel indulged, invigorated and inspired with top-notch service and world-class amenities. A recent multi-million dollar makeover provides visitors with re-designed guestrooms, the all-new Spa at La Costa, a new family pool, and the sophisticated Blue Fire Grill. Golf enthusiasts play the courses made famous over a 40-year history of PGA Tour events, and every February they enjoy the internationally-televised World Golf Championships - Accenture Match Play Championship at La Costa.

La Costa was the first resort spa in the United States, and also the first to be recognized by the American Medical Association. Today, the all new facility offers a variety of signature treatments, a picturesque outdoor courtyard, the spa caf?, and leading edge spa programming. The world-famous Chopra Center, founded by renowned physician and author Dr. Deepak Chopra, is headquartered at La Costa. When they're not on the course or at the spa, La Costa guests can be found in one of more than 50 weekly fitness classes, at one of four sparkling outdoor pools, or dining at one of four restaurants and cafes.

La Costa has always been known as a luxurious tennis destination. Today, La Costa features a 19-court tennis club and plays host to the world's top tennis players annually in the prestigious Acura Classic tournament. La Costa is also a favorite destination for families, as it features Camp La Costa and has been named the #2 Most Family Friendly Resort by The Travel Channel.

Valet parking is now $25 per vehicle, per night.

Great Room, Disappointing Staff Suppport

Anonymous, Chicago, IL, 2006-11-26

The hotel was easy to find, a short drive from San Diego Airport and on the way to LA. The room was very nice ( although the first night the heat was shut off and it was 63 degreees in the room). Also just down the way from Legoland. The staff support was very disapointing! Very unfriendly and unhelpful front desk and valet parking staff. The valet proudly bragged to my young son that he was hung over from the night before. The Front Desk staff did not tell us about the weekend Thanksgiving actitivites when we checked in so we missed them all. The room was very nice. The water pressure in the shower and tub were wonderful. The beds were very comfortable. The grounds were beautiful even through the pools were under construction.

Beautiful Resort

Robert, Hartford, CT, 2006-04-25

Close to shopping centers and main interstate

La Costa is a beautifully kept resort, both building and landscape wise. Large, spacious room with comfortable chairs. TV was larger than other hotels. Bathroom was very spacious with large tub and seperate large shower. Room service was good. Did have some problems with the water not being available (4 seperate occasions) and proved to be disturbing when taking a shower. Was told a water main had broken and was fixed, however it happened after that also. All in all definately would recommend this resort.

Something for everyone

Anonymous, Minneapolis, MN, 2006-04-02

We brought along our two children ages 6 and 11 which can be a difficult age to try to entertain. However, we found there was something for everyone -- from the Kid's Boot Camp at the fitness center to the pool -- everyone was satisfied. Loved it.

Fabulous

Judith, Colorado Springs, CO, 2006-03-31

This hotel was wonderful. It was located in a beautiful setting. The rooms were nice and clean. The resort had a beautiful golf course and was very picturesque. The workout facilities and the spa were first class. They did offer a kids camp, but it wasn't going on while I was there. I would definitely go back. I did have to pay for parking, but from what I saw of the San Diego area, you do everywhere.

Great for relaxation

Dawn, Beaumont, TX, 2006-03-19

The two restaurants on site and the "convenience store" were great options for each meal. No need to leave the resort.

LaCosta was an experience to remember. The hotel staff were exceptional in customer service. The rooms were spacious and the gounds were spectacular. The views from the Legends restaurant were beautiful and very relaxing. We worked out each morning with the latest equipment and had a great view. The Spa was very relaxing and invigorating at the same time. I would recommend this resort to anyone who loves golf and pampering themselves. The dining was very good but a little pricey. We took a guided tour of the wineries in Temecula with a company recommended by the hotel and we had a wonderful time. The Wilson Creek Winery was a perfect place to spend part of an afternoon.

Rooms for royalty

Ty, Birmingham, AL, 2006-02-21

Call the bell stand at least ten minutes prior to departure for complimetary transfer to onsite destination

Although La Costa Resort is 27 miles north of San Diego, it's amenities definitely make up for the drive. We stayed in a Spa Room that was fit for a queen! The room was quite large and equipped with very nice furniture and decor. The bathroom was amazing, with all the right touches (towel warmer, spa basket, intimate lighting, large shower, etc). If you want a quiet place to relax and have some space, this is it. My only complaint is the remote parking lot that either requires a walk or complimentary shuttle.

A charming renovation of the place

Ann, Nashville, TN, 2006-02-14

The San Diego zoo is only 30 minutes away, a must to go see and experience. The best in the world!

Go to the hotel bellmen for the best advice on restaurants, directions, etc. The large hotel rooms and baths were very recently renovated and were very tastefully decorated. Bathroom had seperate glass shower and large tub. Nice towels and robes are provided. The rooms are spread out around the golf course, and you get your exercise going to and from the spa and pools. Good food at the Legends dining room for Sunday brunch. The blue fire grill is quite nice for coctails and dinner also. The spa is quite costly, but I had a great deep tissue massage and the whole place is clean and well kept. I had a manicure, pedicure, and waxing at the salon. Very nice attendants took care of me there.
