Restaurant on the corner by the beach, called Miafe, is wonderful.

The hotel is in Venice Beach, which has a lot of transient activity. Hotel staff were very nice, but the amenties were not a good value. Showers would old with the shower head being at 5' tall instead of higher up. Tubs were also old and narrow. Hallway reeked of mildew and they had a worker in their steam cleaning, but not actually treating the mildew. Some rooms were very small and when I upgraded, the internet connection was next to the 2nd bed instead of being at the desk. I'm a business traveler and thought I would be able to work in the room. Postive notes included very comfortable beds and the cafe across the street, Miafe, which was wonderful. It was fine running on the beach in the morning, but due to the high transient traffic, it didn't feel safe to walk along the boardwalk at night in search of other restaurants or entertainment.

Great Beach Hotel

The Sidewalk Cafe has excellent food and bar, for all times of the day. The atmoshphere is fun if you love to people watch. It has covered out door seating.

The Best Western Marina Hotel and Suites is at the top of the 2 Star scale. It is 1 block from the Beach and within walking distance to many restaurants. I visit Venice Beach often and will definitely stay at this Hotel again. It is very clean and comfortably accomodated 3 woman in a 2 queen size bed room. Vanity and bath area are separate, which was convenient. The continental breakfast was superb.

I think they should have an up front price that should include parking. No hotel should charge for parking but they do. This is a stupid thing to get extra money when it is to late to get another place to stay.
