Most recent user reviewsScore 5 out of 5 everything on walking distance Bernard, 2007-02-19 shopping and restaurants are all nearby plus 124 art gallerysThe rooms were very neat, we had room 210 and was very quiet. The fact that it was located in the middle of town, was pure accidental, but very nice. Everything on walking distance, perfect. It was presidents day weekend and what ever I tried to book was: no vacancy. We are a member of the Bestern Western Chain and it was very nice they had a room for us. I certainly would recommend it!!! A suitcase stand would be helpful. Score 4 out of 5 Good for the Race Weekend Marc, 2006-10-22 Go to the end of Ocean Ave and take a walk on the beach, or if it is clear, the sunsets.Came to Carmel for a race at Laguna Seca. The hotel has a great location, bathroom was fine and nice shower (no tub). Room had just been recarpeted, so it had an odd smell, but the night person was kind enough to give me some air spray. Hotel only has enough parking for 1 car per room, so upon arriving late, I had to park down the street for an evening. Carmel is vigilant about parking enforcement, so I was up by 8 AM to move the car back to the hotel... Score 5 out of 5 Great Location Terry, San Diego, CA, 2005-11-02 Located in the heart of the town of Carmel. The location in Carmel was great. I liked the fact that the room had a real closet. I would stay there again, when in Carmel. Score 4 out of 5 Great Bargain for the Carmel Location Jeannette, Dayton, OH, 2005-10-20 Shopping and a variety of dining choices are within easy walking distance of the hotel. Beautiful Carmel Beach is also within walking distance and the famous 17-mile drive entrance is also a short drive from the hotel. The Best Western Carmel's Townhouse Lodge was a great bargain for a hotel in Carmel-by-the-Sea. We've stayed only in the high-dollar hotels nearby or in the Pebble Beach or Carmel Highlands area and found this little hotel a bargain in comparison. The Best Western room was clean, fairly spacious, although the bed needs to be replaced. The furniture is typical "Best Western" fare; the bathroom was sparkling clean, but very small. The shower could use a corner shelving unit to accommodate shampoo, shower gel, razors and such. Loved the free wireless internet access and parking! The Continental breakfast is adequate, but as items were consumed by guests, they were not replenished especially for the time allotted for breakfast. Overall, we were satisfied for the price paid. Our total hotel bill for three nights was only slightly higher than one night's stay at the more popular, high-dollar hotels and inns nearby, and the location of the Best Western is only a short three-block walk from the Ocean Avenue center of beautiful Carmel-by-the-Sea.
