Lots of fun in Tlaquepaque for shopping and dining.

Los Abrigaos is well located in Sedona. It is a very pretty facility. However, when we began to check in the front desk staff tried to tell us we would be unhappy with the room as it was small and for more money we could be more comfortable. We decided to stay with the original room and it was fine. The hotel is more interested in selling fractional shares of ILX property than its hotel guests. Nice place but the front desk staff is not resonsive.

Los Abrigados is a great holiday value. It's proximity to shopping, entertainment, and great restaurants is key. With a small child, it was great to get to the resort, park and walk to all of the sites. The resort and the shopping area, Tlaquepaque are fantastic for holiday lights, events and music.

The "Pink Jeep Tour" is a must do!

Location was ideal with many choices of restaurants and shopping both in walking distance. The amenities included tennis, mini golf, pool, bar and the fitness center was fantastic!

I believe that Los Abrigados has some very nice accomodations, but felt like I was tucked in a room at the very back of the property, near a utility yard. The check-in clerk pointed out that I was staying in one of the rooms that had not been remodeled. I didn't realize how antiquated the room would be until I got there, but by the time I found the room in it's tucked away location, I needed to get ready for dinner. The room I stayed in was more like a 2-star motel. I did notice on the way to my room, however, that there was an apparently remodeled room with the curtains opened and lights on which was much nicer than my room. MUCH nicer. I'm not sure why I was the second-class guest who had to stay in the room at the top of the circular stairs, and wish I would have had time to complain and possibly move. The staff in the Sticks and Steaks (?) restaurant were very accomodating and friendly. As I said, I'm sure the property has some fine rooms, but for whatever reason, I wasn't in one of them.

Make sure to walk to the back of the property and stroll along the river.

A few decades ago, this was probably a great place. But they've let it slip a bit and its age is showing. Most of the guests who stay here do so for free or at a greatly reduced rate as ILX attempts to woo them into a time-share property, so you'd think that it would be in the best interests of management to make this a first class facility. But alas, no. Oh well.

The rooms are spacious, tasteful decor with special attention to comfort and relaxation - spacious bathrooms, lots of closet space and room to move. The staff is friendly, accommodating and dedicated to making your stay memorable. Everything is at your fingertips - 3 restaurants, spa facility, pool amenities, beautiful grounds with shopping center, centrally located to several major vortexes and downtown shopping. Great Vacation Spot

The food at the restaurant is some of the best food you will find in Sedona. Be sure to try one of the many breakfast choices such as the breakfast pizza or the fillet (steak) and eggs.

Staying at the Los Abrigados was the highlight of our trip to the West. Although an older resort, it is constantly being upgraded and maintained. We love the location of the resort as well as it's peaceful setting situated along Oak Creek. Many (but not all) of the rooms have a great view of the surrounding red rocks and it's great having your morning coffee on the balcony enjoying the view. My wife and I stayed at the Inn this trip and enjoyed the studio rooms also. They are much smaller than the one bedroom suites of course, but each studio has it's own charm. Some with fireplaces, some with high ceilings. I believe all have a microwave and frig. The Inn is situated next to the tennis courts which is convenient if you enjoy the game. We don't play, but I did enjoy watching from our second floor balcony. There is a private outdoor hot tube for use by the guests of the Inn and was great to relax in after a hard day shopping. There are many popular shopping spots within walking distance of the resort. Garlands Navajo Rugs is always on my list of shopping spots. Each studio has it's own designated parking spot, although some are in the main shopping parking lot and you may find someone has parked in your spot. Really no big deal. There are plenty of spots. Security will oust them if you report it. If you don't mind staying at an older resort, then Los Abrigados will be a very good choice while staying in Sedona.

Disability friendly

Los Abrigados was quite handicapped accessible. There were only a few places on the grounds where accessibility was a problem. The room was pleasant and spacious. The walk in shower was a pleasant surprise. There was a glass table in the room and 2 armless chairs which were not comfortable for relaxing in. Since my husband is not wheelchair confined but has trouble getting to a standing position, a chair with arms would have been nice, since we were concerned about using a glass topped table for support for him to get up. We didn't feel it was practical for that room. The room was well equipped with supplies, towels etc. It had a microwave and small refrigerator which was useful. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. The grounds were exceptionally well kept. We would love to go back again soon. We had a pleasant stay.
