Guests of The Grand Hotel enjoy gateway access to Grand Canyon National Park and a variety of recreational activities. The lodge, built in 1998, features the classic architecture and decor of America's great lodges with rustic timber, western ironwork, and immense log beams. A central lobby with a towering stone fireplace invites good books, lively games of checkers, and inquisitive conversations with travelers from around the world. The nearby grand piano inspires guests to play their favorite tunes and sing along. You might even enjoy a spontaneous guitar and fiddle jam session going on in the lobby.
On State Highway 64 in the village of Tusayan, The Grand Hotel is only one mile from the entrance to Grand Canyon National Park and just seven miles from the South Rim of the canyon.
Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 good location / ok hotel william see the Grand Canyon at sunrisewe stayed here one night while visiting the Grand Canyon. The hotel was clean, neat and is relatively new. It was a convenient location, a good price, had a free continental breakfast, a small pool and whirlpool. It was a nice hotel that was nothing out of the ordinary. Score 5 out of 5 Great for a Grand Canyon Visit Anonymous So close to Grand canyon, yet still has the basics, like a gas station a few nice little resturaunts.Best Hotel in the area, was very convienent for our trip to the Grand Canyon.Awesome rates. They even put up with my puppy and didn't charge me extra. Score 5 out of 5 Great Location To Grand Canyon Anonymous, 2007-03-09 Very limited........nothing much here but in & out of the Grand Canyon. No frills, pool was teeny tiny, indoors. Very basic place to sleep, shower, and get right out to the Grand Canyon. Literally 5 minutes to the south enterance. Score 5 out of 5 Great atmosphere Anonymous, 2007-02-16 The Grand Hotel was a great hotel with a great western atmosphere. The bed was very comfortable and the room as a whole was comfortable and clean. My husband and I can't wait to bring the kids to see the Grand Canyon and we will definately stay at this hotel again when we do. Score 4 out of 5 Good hotel experience but a little pricey. Larry, 2006-10-18 It's a short drive to the canyon entrance from the hotel and the Imax is nearby. The hotel had a great lobby with fire place and had a sports bar. The food and service was fine. The tribal dance dinner entertainment was great. The rooms were a little small but otherwise very confortable. I would stay here again. Score 4 out of 5 Overrated Hotel Sherilyn, Tucson, AZ, 2006-09-16 Everything closes up at 10pm, even in the local area, so you had better not be hungry after that!We were not very satisfied with the Grand Hotel, especially considering the price per night. The room was clean and comfortable, but the lights in the room were harsh and glaring. The closet was one of those with hangers that are rivited to the rod, and there weren't enough of them, or room to add more. The bathroom was clean and roomy, but there was no air flow in there and so it was hot most of the time. We went down for breakfast on our first morning and tried the buffet. The food was all cold, including the eggs and sausage. We pointed it out to the waiter, but no help was given. There was a series of tvs mounted from the ceiling in the center of the room and the room was dark and gloomy. From the tvs all during breakfast a loud movie was blasting giving the history of some part of the history of the Grand Canyon. That was tacky and annoying. The lobby and seating area of the hotel was very cute, the gift shop seemed to carry some good items, there's a Starbucks in the lobby, etc. so the hotel knows how to do it well. They just failed miserably with the breakfast. I also think that hotels need to offer help with luggage. At least you can decline if you don't need it. This isn't a cheap hotel, but they seem to be understaffed and interested mostly in making money off the tours, instead of wanting you to come back. Putting up with the sound of helicoptors flying over your room each morning is ok, as long as everything else is great. Being the biggest in the area doesn't necessarily make you the best. Score 5 out of 5 Immaculate Beth, 2006-09-06 Grand Canyon entrance is approximately 5 miles. The Grand Hotel was very comfortable. We had two queen beds - clean linens, towels, etc. The only problem is that our room was a little dark and we had to turn on every light. But we were impressed otherwise. Would recommend to others visiting Grand Canyon area, even though it is just outside the Park. Score 4 out of 5 Adequate hotel Anonymous, Pittsburgh, PA, 2006-07-25 Avoid summer months , temperatures were about 95-96 degrees. The location to the Grand Canyon was close, food was adequate at the hotel restaurant, but our deluxe balcony view was toward the entrance of the hotel with only a view of the highway! Rooms were comfortable with pillow top mattresses, and very clean. Hotel staff was not very friendly. Score 1 out of 5 Pet Unfriendly Anonymous, 2006-05-05 Very short drive tot he Grand Canyon - less than 2 miles. At the time of check in, we were advised that a $75 deposit would be required plus $20 extra per pet per night. Additionally, because we had pets, we would be required to stay in a smoking room. It appeared to be an average room at best. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone travelling with pets. It's obvious the hotel prefers not to allow pets, and it would be wise of them to simply adopt that policy. Score 5 out of 5 Review BRETT, 2006-03-31 No review provided by user |
