Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 Excellent for our needs Larry, Atlanta, GA The bakery across the street was excellant for a light supper or a tastey treat for later in the room. The Smugglers Inn in Tucson was excellent for our needs in touring the Tucson area and a great value for the money. We had no problems with check-in and our room was satisfactory. We had a nice balcony over looking the courtyard area. The ducks and waterfalls were relaxing after long days on the road. The location was easy to find and convenient to local attractions. The facilty has a little wear and tear, however, it was clean and quite. The free hot breakfast was an extra bonus and got us on the road in fine shape. We would stay there again. Score 5 out of 5 Pleasant Stay Conrad, Detroit, MI Many places to pick from. Good breakfast at "the Good Egg". 5 minutes from the hotel. We found the accomodations very comfortable. The landscaping and ambience was great. The breakfast served was adequate but could have had a longer serving time. The lounge hours were also very limited. All in all we would have no problem staying here on our next visit. Score 5 out of 5 When and where we needed a motel Anonymous, Fort Huachuca, AZ, 2006-05-25 there are a number of fine resturants from economy to pricey and everything from buffets to hamburgers joints. The Smugglers Inn was an appropriate Hotel for our needs. It is located near the hospital we needed for early the next morning. The ammenites were fine, the personnel was very nice and the room was not fancy but clean and the beds were comfortable. Another plus was when we drive up to Tucson and we pass The Smuggler's Inn I always wonder about a nice older looking motel in the middle of such a busy area, now I know it is nice, friendly and comfortable. Yes I would stay there again . As to food I couldn't eat for that 24 hours but they did have a nice buffet breakfast that my husband enjoyed. He thinks I should tell you he enjoyed the patio and the ducks are friendly. Score 2 out of 5 So-so Anonymous, 2006-04-03 Pool and hot tub were filthy especially the tiles. They hadn't been washed in years. Blackened at the top of white tiles. Pool was cloudy and uninhabitable. Personnel was unhelpful and uninformed and could care less about helping you. Housekeeping staff was pleasant and helpful. Score 4 out of 5 luscious landscape Anonymous, Denver, CO, 2006-03-30 Stripmalls surround this property. Just a sampling: on the southside of Speedway Blvd. is a wonderful used bookstore, UNICEF giftshop, and kids clothing story. On the northside is a yummy family-owned restaurant, a Trader Joe's, and (of course) Starbucks. The grounds of the Smuggler's Inn, Tuscon, is luscious. Amid this desert enviornment, guests are greeted to an inviting courtyard of pools, flowers, and greenery. 10-20 years ago I envision this as an oasis resort. Tuscon is a sprawling commuity and this resort is now surrounded by strip malls and residences. The property attracts both elderly couples and young families. The breakfast buffet serves more than the typical continental breakfast. Score 1 out of 5 No hot water Anonymous, 2006-03-24 Mexican restaurnat not badCheck-in took a long time as there was only 1 person at the counter. happy hour turned out to be 1 drink coupon. We ordered Margaritas that were made with OJ as they were out of mix. Both mornings the hotel ran out of hot water. The hot tub was broken the first night. After our first day in Tucson, we came back to the room that had not been cleaned by the maids. In complaining to the front desk, the girl asked what we wanted. I said at least clean towels. 2 calls later, we finally got the towels. Score 5 out of 5 a good hotel joseph, Minneapolis, MN, 2006-03-17 canyon countryvery pleased with service & enjoyed the breakfast immensely Score 5 out of 5 EXCELLANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anonymous, 2006-03-09 THE SMUGGLER'S WAS COMFORTABLE.HAD A GREAT BAR.FRONT DESK CLERK'S WERE NICE.FELT SAFE IN ROOM.GREAT POOL.EXCELLANT!!! Score 2 out of 5 closeness counts William, Augusta, GA, 2006-03-01 Night-life and entertainment (which I didn't sample) was close by. Numerous restaurants (which I didn't try) were also close by.On the positive, this motel was relatively close to the downtown convention center, but it is in need of repair, the room had an odor, the dining room was inferior and dark and the staff was average. Score 4 out of 5 Rough around the edges Anonymous, 2006-02-25 Be early for buffet breakfast if you want hot food and a clean place to sit.Room clean but bed uncomfortable. AM breakfast OK if you were one of the first to arrive. As the morning progressed food was not replaced and tables not cleaned between patrons. Grounds appeared to have been very lovely at one time but now overtaken with ducks, even in the swimming pool and hot tub making them very unattractive for guest use. Great location, central to everything we wanted to do and very quiet. |
