Most recent user reviewsScore 2 out of 5 Next to active railroad Anonymous, Phoenix, AZ, 2007-03-04 The hotel is close the downtown area. The rooms were clean and comfortable for the price, but an active train track is directly across the street. Score 3 out of 5 My review of Best Western Kings House Motel Michael, Pittsburgh, PA, 2006-06-27 Easy access to Interstate 40. Approximately 40 miles to Meteor Crater. Nearby is Lowell Observatory and downtown Flagstaff. The Best Western Kings House motel is located along historic Route 66 in Flagstaff, Arizona. The room we had was clean but quite small. There was little room to sit and relax. You had to sit on the beds to have a good TV viewing angle. A chair at the foot of one bed hindered movement to the bathroom. The bathroom had a separate toilet and tub/shower apart from the sink. There was adequate space for hanging clothing. A very limited space was provided for breakfast and the selection of items was restricted to pastries, cereals, coffee and juices. Access to the property was off a busy four-lane roadway. Across the road was a heavily-used railroad mainline. Throughout the evening and night we were frequently jolted by train whistles as they approached a grade crossing. The staff were quite friendly and gave us directions to local restaurants and shopping though none were within walking distance. Score 5 out of 5 easy highway acess kenneth, Rockford, IL, 2005-11-28 place to eat right next doorbestwestern flagstaff is my only only place I will stay . I like that I am close to stores highways ,oldtown flagstaff ,places to eat, etc.and the room is clean larger television, all the conviences of home when I travel north to visit my properties I make best western flagstaff my first stop. Score 5 out of 5 Nice Place Jorge, Phoenix, AZ, 2005-10-30 Hotel was nice. Room was well kept and comfortable. Staff was friendly and curteous. Hotel was on a main road that lead easily to main street as well as highways. Price was very reasonable. The only drawback to the place was the railroad nearby where one could hear the train pass by in the middle of the night. Score 3 out of 5 Too Close to the Tracks Anonymous, Denver, CO, 2005-10-23 There are plenty of dining venues within a short drive from the hotel. The Best Western Kings House in Flagstaff AZ is a nice hotel. The room comfort was acceptable and the staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was a bit uncomfortable but my biggest criticism was the location of the hotel. It was right across the street from the train tracks. Every train in America must have gone through that area during our two day stay. It seemed like they were on a ten minute schedule. Fortunately, we seemed to sleep well during the night despite the lack of insulation from the noise. Nice hotel but bad location. Score 1 out of 5 Loud Trains will Keep You Up At Night Anonymous, Portland, OR, 2005-09-25 Don't stay here if you're not a hard sleeper! Freight trains run by every hour and blast their horn less than 75 feet away from the hotel. Otherwise you get what you pay for. Score 4 out of 5 Review Anonymous, 2005-08-14 No review provided by user Score 5 out of 5 A great deal John, Phoenix, AZ, 2005-08-13 There are a ton of different restuarantsin the general area. Everything from Mexican to sushi to great burger places to more expensive cuisine is a few minutes away. The hotel was a great deal and exactly what I needed. It was close to all areas I was visiting off and on that week and very easy for visiting friends to find. I was never more than 15 minutes away from the areas I was intested in, except for Snow Bowl. The breakfast was basic, but opened early so I could get on the road. The staff was very friendly and curtious, helping me to locate some of the areas I wanted to visit. All together a great place to stay. Very convenient to central Flagstaff. Score 4 out of 5 Nostalgic hotel Lois, Cincinnati, OH, 2005-08-11 Grand Canyon tours may be picked up in Flagstaff or about 90 miles by car. Best to stay over the night prior to meet the tour on time and after--the rest is needed. This hotel keeps up the flavor of Route 66--very 1950's. It was basic and comfortable. Score 2 out of 5 Distrubing Anonymous, Chicago, IL, 2005-07-31 good place for nice walk. This hotel is situated next to the railway tracks and trains have been going all night on those tracks. I hardly slept between the consecutive trains horns. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANY ONE WHO DESERVES A GOOD NIGHT SLEEP. |
