Most recent user reviewsScore 1 out of 5 BEWARE!!!! Jason, Green Island January 2006. This hotel was horrible! We stayed two nights. We didn't have any hot water both mornings. After we complained, the maintainance man revealed that two out of three hot water heaters had been broken for some time and there were no plans to repair them. The breakfast options were corn flakes or toast. Our second morning they were out of both and no coffee, during what was supposed to be breakfast hours. One of our beds didn't have a top sheet, and we only had two pillows and two towels for the whole room. Complaints about this were ignored by the desk manager and room service. I was finally able to get a bedsheet on the second day. Room service failed to show up on the second day. Stay far far away. Score 2 out of 5 Would not recommend Anonymous, Atlanta, GA, 2006-08-05 The room was of average size. Only one trash can in the room. No micorwave. No refridgerator. One wall was apparently hit by something or someone and had not been repaired. The sliding glass door onto the small patio was not secure and I DID NOT feel safe. It was in a bad part of town. There were people there that wandered about (not guests) that made me uncomfortable. It was not very clean. The pool was absolutely unsafe as it had black mold? and places on the bottom that were literally coming apart. I don't know how it held the cloudy water. We were told that it was 56 years old....and it looked like it! Overall, the entire place was in disrepair and was in dire need of attention. Had my husband not been with me, I would have changed hotels. We also had our 3 year old grandson with us and I did not feel that it was adequate for such young child. There were pieces of trash all over the premises and IN the pool. It was just junky. I will not be staying there again. I was very disappointed. About the only positive thing that I can say, is that the staff was friendly and it was easy to find. Score 1 out of 5 very scary and unacceptable Cindy, 2006-07-08 I had my family with me and we thought Howard Johnson's would have been comfortable but we were very shocked at the conditions of the hallways and the rooms were like saunas no air barely working. stains and cigerette holes all over carpet and bedspreads. a cigar but came out of the bathroom sink when we brushed our teeth. It was probably the worst atmosphere that my family and I have experienced. Score 1 out of 5 Needs renovtion DOLORES, Allentown, PA, 2006-06-09 When we arrived it was raining and the entire lobby area was flooded. The pool was closed. The dining room and bar were closed. We stayed somewhere else except for one night. The staff was very friendly and did the best under the circumstances. Renee, 2005-12-17 A Steak and Shake is across the street. This hotel had obvious roof/fascia damage--probably from Hurrican Katrina four months earlier. Our room had brand new carpet and paint but an old outdated bathroom. We were not given enough towels and there was no table and chairs in the room. The so-called continental breakfast consisted of a pre-packaged muffin and coffee. I saw no juice or tea. There was a sign apologizing for the repairs going on. I tried to be sympathetic but hurricane damage didn't cause a lack of towels or a poor breakfast. They should close until all the repairs are made and everything is back in order. I'm sure it will be much nicer in a few months. The location is very nice--about the last hotel on I-65 before it runs into I-10. |
