Mall is within walking distance, very good if you forgot something and need it right away and you don't want to pay airport or hotel prices. Good familiy restaurant across the the street (Country Kitchen). There are also a lot of small shops around the area.I was a bite frustrated with the internet connection available in the hotel. I needed it for school, and had troubles with the connection. The staff was very friendly. I liked how the vanity was seperate from the bathroom area. There was no continental breakfast, but they did provide a coupon for a restaurant near the hotel. There were no surprises about room charges or hotel location. The room was clean and comfortable. Room temperature was fine and bath water was hot. My only regret was that I couldn't stay longer. The mall is a 5 mintue walk. There are also a number of cute little gift shops and eclectic cafes and coffee shops within walking distance.The Days Inn Downtown in Anchorage was comfortable. The bed was comfortable and having a microwave and fridge in the room was helpful, as I was there for a week. I arrived to check in quite late and the night staff was very friendly and helpful. My only complaints about the hotel are with the parking and the wireless internet. Parking seemed limited and was not very convienent. I only had access to my e-mail for one day. They did have internet access in the lobby, but it was not free. They charged a small fee for using the computer. The location wasn't too bad. It was within walking distance of the central downtown area, and all guests recieved a 10% of coupon for the Couuntry Kitchen restaurant across the street. I was comfortable and close to m any activites that the city has to offer. Dont expect Taj Mahal and dont expect the city's elite to being staying there, but I enjoyed my stay there.
