Most recent user reviewsScore 2 out of 5 Friendly but way too noisy Anonymous My first night was nearly sleepless. I had to call the front desk multiple times to report loud yelling and door-slamming in the rooms above and next to mine. Hotel security responded quickly, but that didn't change the fact that I was wakened several times throughout the night by obnoxious hotel guests. And, as luck would have it, I arrived just in time for lots of hotel maintennance. The second day I was there, they began renovating rooms in the hall I was staying in -- ALL of the rooms except mine. Beginning promptly at 7am every morning (while I was still trying to sleep) crews showed up with hammers and started pounding away, removing all the tile from the bathrooms, and rattling the pictures on my walls. It sounded like I was living in the midst of a Manhattan construction site or the Big Quake of '64. They turned the hallway into an obstacle-course filled with shower curtain rods, doors, piles of bathroom tiles, and construction stuff. And I grew more and more fatigued as the week went on, because I couldn't get any sleep. A cold snap hit as well, with temperatures down to -15 F, and the guest parking lot has no plug-ins. Being from Fairbanks, the lack of plug-ins was appalling to me. This is ALASKA, they should be prepared for cold snaps. All those cold starts caused unnecessary wear and tear on my vehicle. The restaurant (Coast's best feature) had good food, and the waitstaff were particularly friendly. But naturally, the restaurant was a construction-zone too, as they were hammering all the tile out of the entryway floor, filling the place with dust and hammering sounds. So no matter where I went -- my room, the restaurant, the lounge -- I was always surrounded by the pounding noise of hammering and construction chaos. Overall -- for the price, this hotel wasn't even close to being worth it. Not by a long shot. For all that construction, they should have given at least SOME kind of discount. Everyone was friendly, but after a week of sleep-deprivation, I really didn't care. Needless to say, I won't be staying there again.
