The Westmark Fairbanks Hotel and Conference Center sets the standard for elegance, style, and service and is located in the heart of Fairbanks. Score 3 out of 5 My review of Westmark Fairbanks Hotel Kevin, San Jose, CA, 2006-11-14 The Westmark Fairbanks Hotel property was nice on the outside, but the rooms were fairly small; I barely had enough room to get my suitcase between the bed and the dresser. The room had separate switches for heating and cooling, and whenever I turned on the heater it started to make a very annoying buzzing noise. The first thing I noticed was that when I checked in it felt like I was interrupting the conversation the two front desk operators were having, and neither of them seemed too interested in helping me. The hotel smelled like cigarette smoke, but this was more than likely due to people smoking too close to the doorways. There is a good variety of restaurants in the immediate area.Westmark Fairbanks Hotel had recently renovated rooms which are quite spacious and very accomodating. The dates of my stay at the hotel weere considered "off season" and therefore I found limited hours of availability for their restaurant and in-hotel store. Other than that mild inconvenience my stay at the Westmark was a very positive experience. I would not hesitate to stay at that facility again or recommend it to other business travelers.
