The airport features the Reef Runway, the first in the world to be built offshore, as well as three other runways. Thirty-four international, domestic, inter-island, and commuter carriers use the airport. With a large selection of retail shops, bars, and restaurants, there are many ways to pass the time before or after your Honolulu flights. Ten miles south of Waikiki and six miles from Honolulu, passengers can travel onward by taxi, bus, car, or SpeediShuttle. Following your Honolulu flights, book taxis at the center median near the baggage reclaim or ride one of the public buses to take you all over the island.
