Cheap Atlanta Flights

Arriving flights to Atlanta will enter one of the following airports: Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), Dekalb-Peachtree Airport (PDK), or the Fulton County Airport (FTY). ATL is one of the busiest airports in the world—which is where most flights to Atlanta will arrive. There are big and small airlines that service the airport, with Delta Air Lines having a primary hub here. While passengers wait for their flights, they can enjoy the Wi-Fi networks available as well as fine dining or some hometown Chick-Fil-A. PDK or FTY are much smaller airports, normally used by individuals that are taking low-cost flights from nearby cities or connecting to other parts of Georgia. ATL is the only commercial airport, handling more than three-quarters of all air traffic to and from the city. Only municipal flights use smaller airports such as PDK and FTY.

Atlanta Weather

Weather in Atlanta varies from cold to extremely hot. The summers in Atlanta can be hot and very humid, reaching into the 90s, with July being the hottest month. Winters in Atlanta can be quite cold on certain days and on others they are warm enough to avoid having to dress in heavy clothing. The snow never accumulates beyond flurries, but it does get cold enough to warrant some mittens. Atlanta is a heavily-used air traffic area, making the ideal time to purchase Atlanta flights the spring and fall when holiday travel is much lower.

Getting Around Atlanta

Visitors to Atlanta will be able to take advantage of several transportation modes once their flight lands at ATL. The Marta transportation service has vending machines at the airport where passengers from Atlanta flights can purchase Breeze Cards which are used to store your travel fare. Taxi cabs are all over and offer fair price to get to downtown, located 30 minutes away. Many visitors of the Atlanta area will find traveling by car the most convenient means of transportation. There are numerous car rental services available at ATL, and it is recommended you rent one with a GPS, as the city is very large and spread-out. Marta has web-like bus and train routes that have the whole city covered from corner-to-corner.
