New York to Las Vegas Flights

A proper vacation in Sin City allows you to experience pleasures New York City cannot offer. Legalized gambling and a culture of decadence attract millions of eager visitors to Las Vegas each year. To book flights from New York to Las Vegas, browse Orbitz.com for discounted rates and all the latest special offers.

New York City

With its wide selection of the best restaurants, shows, and museums, New York City is often considered the cultural capital of United States. There are two airports in New York City: LaGuardia Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport. Travelers may also use the nearby Newark Liberty International Airport to fly from New York City. All three airports are accessible by taxis, limousines, shuttles, and public buses. JFK and Newark airports also receive service from the AirTrain, which allows you to bypass ground traffic worries.

While parking is available at all three airports, many travelers find it simpler and less expensive to use public transportation. If you'd still like to drive your car to the airport, be prepared to pay $33 at any of the three airports for a day's parking. Economy parking is approximately $18 per day for stays lasting longer than two days, but long-term parking fees vary by airport.

There's no need for travelers to go hungry when they fly out of New York City. JFK International offers over a dozen dining options in each of its eight terminals. While LaGuardia offers fewer options, there are still over 40 restaurants from which to choose. Newark International also houses at least a dozen restaurants at each of its three terminals.

Las Vegas, Nevada

Located in the Mojave desert, Las Vegas actually owes its start to the construction of the nearby Hoover Dam and the legalization of gambling, both of which occurred in 1931. Nearly 40 million visitors came to Sin City in 2011, attracted by the dozens of conventions, casinos, five-star restaurants, and luxury boutiques that call Las Vegas home.

Experience Las Vegas

McCarran International Airport is located less than a mile from the Las Vegas Strip. Taxis, shuttles, public buses, rental cars, and even limousines are all available for your transportation needs. There are two completely independent terminals at McCarran Airport, each with separate parking, transportation, and baggage claim areas. Each airline only uses one terminal, so it's easy to figure out which terminal you'll arrive at.

Las Vegas summer weather may seem extreme to visitors. With an average high in July of 104 degrees Fahrenheit, it's important that travelers who visit between June and August be prepared for the heat. Visitors should plan on carrying an extra layer of clothing, however, because the casinos are temperature controlled and can become chilly. The coolest month in Las Vegas is December, when the average high is 57 degrees Fahrenheit.

Las Vegas is known for its world-class casinos that offer attractions that go beyond mere gambling. Large casinos, such as the Wynn, Luxor, and Venetian, house clothing boutiques from major luxury brands, five-star restaurants, and musical shows and rock star performances. For those who are not interested in the glitz of the city lights, Las Vegas also offers excellent rock climbing opportunities. The city hosts a rock climbing festival in the spring that attracts visitors from around the world.
