Flights From Mazatlan
The General Rafael Buelna International Airport handles all of the air traffic heading into the city of Mazatlan in Mexico. The single terminal airport is small, with just over 750 thousand passengers a year, but it provides excellent service to the popular tourist destination. Airlines providing cheap flights from Mazatlan include Aeromexico, Delta Air Lines, US Airways and WestJet, with reservations available through Orbitz.com.
Parking at the General Rafael Buelna International Airport
For those who drive to General Rafael Buelna International Airport, both short- and long-term parking are available. The parking fees begin at about $2 for the first hour and increase by $0.50 for each 15-minute period thereafter until reaching a maximum charge of about $18 daily. A lost ticket will result in an additional charge of $18. All payments are made in the terminal building using the automated payment machines for cash or the manned booth for credit cards.
Transportation to the Airport
Transport to the airport from the Mazatlan city center is provided by authorized taxi service. The taxis charge fees based on the starting zone of the trip, the car size and the number of passengers.
A Meal Before Departing
You can enjoy a last meal before leaving the city at a number of fine local restaurants. For the budget traveler, El Shrimp Bucket offers fresh seafood at an attractively low price. For a last taste of local cuisine, Copa de Leche is hard to beat, offering delicious dishes such as pechugas en nogada, alambe and shrimp a la plancha. If you're in a hurry to catch one of the cheap flights from Mazatlan arranged through Orbitz.com, a quick trip to the food court in the terminal should suffice.
