McCarran International Airport
The McCarran International Airport is located at 5757 Wayne Newton Boulevard, 5 miles south of downtown Las Vegas. Ten airlines offer flights from Las Vegas to New York City, including Virgin American, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines. Flights depart from Terminal 1 and Terminal 3.
If you need to park your car at the airport while you travel, you have numerous parking options to choose from. Terminals 1 and 3 both have long-term parking for $14 per day and surface parking for $10 per day. The cheapest parking option, at $8 per day, is the Economy Parking lot, located at 576 Kitty Hawk Way. The airport offers a free shuttle service that transports passengers between the lot and the terminals. If you don't want to park your car at the airport, you can get there by bus or taxicab. You can take the bus to the airport for $2 per person. Cab fare from the Strip to the airport costs between $12 and $21. Cab fare from downtown Las Vegas to the airport costs between $22 and $27.
If you want to grab something to eat before your flight, the airport has a variety of dining options available. If you want a quick snack, you can get a soft pretzel from Auntie Anne's, ice cream from Carvel or a cinnamon roll from Cinnabon. If you want a full meal, you can get gourmet sandwiches from Flatbreadz, pizza from Pizza Hut or a burger and fries from Burger King.

Exploring the Big Apple
Flights from Las Vegas arrive at all three of the major airports in the New York area: Newark Liberty International Airport, John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport and LaGuardia Airport. All of the airports are located within 20 miles of Manhattan, and all have taxicab service. Cab fare from LaGuardia to Manhattan costs between $21 and $30, from Newark to Manhattan, between $50 and $70 and from JFK to Manhattan, $45. If your flights lands at LaGuardia or JFK, you can take the NYC Airporter into Manhattan. Tickets cost $12.75 for passengers coming from LaGuardia Airport and $15.75 for passengers coming from JFK. People who land at JFK may choose to take the subway, in which case they need to take the AirTrain to Jamaica Station and then catch the E Train into Manhattan.
New York has four distinct seasons. The summer months are hot and humid, and the winter months are cold and snowy. During the summer, the average temperatures range from the low 60s to the mid-80s. During the winter months, the average temperatures range from the mid-20s to the low 40s. Because snow is common in the winter, and you may walk a lot in the city, you should pack boots to keep your feet dry.
If it's your first time to New York City, you won't want to miss the city's important landmarks. You should visit the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, Ellis Island, the Empire State Building, the Flatiron Building and Rockefeller Center. You can also get a few entertaining pictures with the bronze statue of the bull on Wall Street. Other area attractions include Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Modern Museum of Art, Bethesda Fountain and Battery Park.
