Travel from Boston to Philadelphia

Whether you want to see the Liberty Bell or run up the same stairs as Rocky, it's easy to plan a trip from Boston to Philadelphia when you use Orbitz.com. The website helps you find deals on flights, hotel accommodations and more. It has everything you need to plan every detail of your trip.

Logan International Airport

Logan International Airport is located on Harborside Drive in the East Boston neighborhood. It's the largest airport in New England and serves over 28 million passengers each year. Five airlines offer flights from Boston to Philadelphia: Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, US Airways, American Airlines and AirTran Airways. Flights to Philadelphia depart from Terminals A, B and C.

If you want to park your car at the airport while you travel, you have three parking options. The Central Parking Garage costs $27 per day and puts you within walking distance of all of the terminals. The Terminal B Parking Garage costs $27 per day and gives you easy access to Terminal B. The Economy Parking Lot costs $18 per day or $108 per week. Because this lot isn't within walking distance of the terminals, the airport has a complimentary shuttle that transports passengers to the terminal entrances every 15 to 20 minutes. You can also take the train, known as the "T," from the city to the airport. The silver line connects the South Station to the airport, and the blue line connects the North Station to the airport. You can also take a taxi to the airport. Cab fare costs between $25 and $45, depending on your origin.

If you want to get something to eat before you board your plane, the airport has numerous dining options. If you want to grab something quickly, you can choose from Burger King, Dunkin' Donuts, Gourmet on the Fly or McDonald's. If you want to relax and enjoy a meal, you can choose from Bonfire, Fox Sports Sky Bar & Grill, Johnny Rockets or the Vineyard Grille.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Located along the banks of the Delaware River, Philadelphia is the largest city in Pennsylvania. It's a city steeped in American history. It was where the First Continental Congress was held and the United States Declaration of Independence was signed, and it was temporarily the capital of the United States of America. Whether you're a history buff, a fan of the Rocky movies or you just want a true Philly cheesesteak, you'll find something that interests you in the City of Brotherly Love.

Exploring Philadelphia

Flights from Boston arrive at Philadelphia International Airport, which is located at 8500 Essington Avenue, 7 miles southwest of downtown Philadelphia. You can get from the airport to downtown Philadelphia by bus, train, taxi or rental car. Traveling on the train or bus costs $2 per person. Bus routes 37, 108 and 115 all service the airport. The train, known as the Airport Line Regional Rail, transports passengers from the airport to various parts of Philadelphia, including Eastwick, University City, the 30th Street Station, Suburban Station and Market East. You can take a cab to downtown Philadelphia for $28.50. If you want access to a vehicle during your stay, Orbitz.com offers packages that include a flight and a rental car. The airport houses eight rental car companies, including Hertz, Avis, Budget and Enterprise.

Philadelphia has hot, muggy summers, mild transitional seasons and cold winters. The temperature in January averages in the low 30s but can drop as low as 10 degrees Fahrenheit. In July, the temperature averages in the high 70s but can reach as high as 95 degrees Fahrenheit. The city averages between 8 and 12 wet days per month. Rain is common from spring through the end of fall, and snow is common in the winter.

If you love American history, you won't want to miss Independence Hall, Independence National Historical Park, the National Constitution Center or the Liberty Bell Center. You can also take a walk down Elfreth's Alley-the oldest residential street in America-or take the Constitutional Walking Tour of Philadelphia. If you like shopping and history, head to Macy's. You won't want to miss the building's towering ceilings and century-old architecture. If you're looking for the ultimate cheesesteak, visit Cosmi's Deli, Tony Luke's, Chubby's or Lazaro's.
