Logan International Airport
Logan International Airport is located on Harborside Drive in East Boston. Eight airlines offer flights from Boston to Las Vegas, including American Airlines, United Airlines, AirTran Airways and Delta Air Lines. Flights to Las Vegas depart from Terminals A and B.
The airport has numerous long-term parking options. The Terminal B garage charges $27 per day and puts you within walking distance of Terminal B. The central parking garage offers easy access to all the terminals and charges $27 per day. If you're looking for a cheaper option, you can park in the economy parking lot. This lot charges $18 per day or $108 per week. Because the lot isn't within walking distance to the terminals, the airport has a complimentary shuttle service that transports passengers every 15 to 20 minutes. If you don't want to drive yourself to the airport, you can get there via bus, train or taxicab. MBTA provides bus and train service to the airport. To take the bus, you need to catch the Silver Line at the South Station. To take the train, known as the "T," you need to catch the Blue Line at the North Station. You can also take a taxi to the airport from anywhere in Boston for between $25 and $45.
If you want to grab a bite to eat before you board your plane, the airport has numerous options to choose from. You can grab a quick meal at the Earl of Sandwich, Burger King or Panda Express. If you're looking for a full-service restaurant, you can eat at Bonfire, O'Brian's Pub or Ozone.
Las Vegas, Nevada
In Las Vegas, there's something to see or do everywhere you look. Known as Sin City, Las Vegas is filled with shops, restaurants, casinos and resorts. You can go hiking in Red Rock Canyon, gamble in 24-hour casinos, hang from the side of a building while riding Insanity at the Stratosphere or spend the evening at a dinner show. Regardless of what time of day you choose to explore the city, there's always something to do.
Exploring Las Vegas
Flights from Boston arrive at McCarran International Airport, 5 miles south of downtown Las Vegas. You can get from the airport into the city via bus, taxicab or rental car. Bus stops are located on Level Zero of Terminal 1 at the airport. Bus tickets cost $2 per person, and taxicabs line up outside of the terminal doors. Cabs run on meters, and a $1.80 airport surcharge is added to your final total. If you want your own transportation, you can reserve a rental car using the Orbitz.com website. The Rent-A-Car Center is located 3 miles from the airport, but the airport has rental car shuttles to transport passengers to the center.
Las Vegas has approximately 300 days of sunshine each year. In the summer, the temperature can climb into the 100s during the day but drop into the mid-70s at night. During the winter months, the average temperatures range from the mid-30s to the low 60s. Because it gets cool at night, it's always smart to pack clothes you can layer. Keep in mind that temperatures in the mid-70s can feel chilly after a sweltering hot day that's over 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
While Las Vegas is known for gambling, it isn't the only thing the city has to offer. You can go on a mock skydiving adventure at iFly Las Vegas, relive the city's notorious past at the Mob Museum or find out if you have what it takes to operate heavy machinery at Dig This. Other area attractions include SkyJump Las Vegas, the Neon Museum, the Colosseum at Caesar's Palace and the Hoover Dam.
