The airport is about a 40-minute drive from Apia. Flights are available to Auckland, Honolulu, Nadi, Pago Pago, Tau, Maota, Brisbane and Sydney. Five airlines serve the airport, including Air New Zealand, Air Pacific, Inter Island Airways, Polynesian Airlines and Virgin Samoa. Taxis are another cheap option, although they are not plentiful. A trip to the airport costs about $7. If you are flying out of Apia at night, a taxi may be your only option.

Parking at the Airport

Faleolo International Airport does not provide parking or airport shuttles for passengers. Parking can be found off-site at several lots near the airport, but, before parking your car at one of the more distant lots, make sure the lot offers a shuttle to the airport.

Airport Dining Options

Dining options at the airport are limited. You can grab a bite to eat on the way to the airport at Scalini's Restaurant, Paddles, Giordono's Pizzeria, Kokobanana Bar & Grill or Roko's Restaurant, among others. Orbitz.com can help you plan your entire trip and find cheap flights from Apia.

To race in the work championship, you'll first have to qualify through one of the many qualification races held around the world. Watching the race is free though, and it is often worth the price of one of the cheap flights to Kona available through Orbitz.com.
