Amman is the capital city of Jordan, and it has a population of over 2.8 million. Serving this large population is the Queen Alia International Airport, located about 20 miles from the city center, and the Amman City Airport in East Amman. The smaller Amman City Airport only handles military and domestic flights, with some routes available to nearby countries. Parking is available at the airport on both a short-term and long-term basis. The long-term car park is a guarded area off the access road, with space for 680 vehicles. Temperatures tend to hover around the low to mid 80s Fahrenheit from April to October, rising into the upper 80s and lower 90s from November through March. Lows throughout the year remain consistently in the 70s on average. The rainy seasons occur between March and May and November and December;April and May are the wettest months. Light clothing can be worn for most of the year due to the warmth of the climate.
