During your Baltimore vacation, don't miss these great establishments and attractions:
Thairish
It's a shame this place is so small. Literally tucked away in a corner of Mount Vernon, it deserves to be much bigger. Not that the management doesn't do the most with the available space. Its four-table dining area is decorated very tastefully, and Thai prints adorn the walls. But the food, delicious Thai staples like Pad Thai, Lemon Grass soup, and a fantastic Chicken Marmasan, really deserve a more luxurious setting. As it is, it makes for a great carryout lunch or dinner option.
Moe's Crab & Pasta Factory
As most people know, the word "factory" doesn't always signify culinary excellence. Rest assured that the fare here belies the term. Any comparisons to heavy industry must be reserved for the sheer size of each serving, and the extraordinary number of seafood items that are available. Technically located in Little Italy, Moe's is actually more of an Inner Harbor attraction, and the pub-like décor and friendly staff gives the place a casual feel, though the energy level generally runs quite high.
Brewer's Art
This Charles Street establishment, set in an opulent row house just north of downtown, boasts great food and a great bar. The downstairs bar features scores of micro-brews from around the region and the country. It's a grotto-like space, perfect for intimate conversation, and very popular with Baltimore's young professionals. The upstairs restaurant, with its marble fireplaces and raftered ceilings, is cozy and warm, and offers fare that's both hearty and inventive. The Saffron Ravioli should not be missed.
