Sushi House Manda
This little place was a favorite of the late ABC News correspondent, Judd Rose. Just sushi, and lots of it, is the thing here. One may order "a la carte" items or enjoy "all you can eat sushi" for USD23.95. Nigiri sushi items include Hirame, halibut, and Hotate-Gai, at USD3.75 each. Hand Rolls and Rolled Sushi run in the USD4-USD5.75 price range. The House Special Rolls are USD11.50. Of course, Japanese Sake is served also.
High Tea at the Four Seasons
The English high tea ritual is alive and well. Stop by the Veranda Restaurant at the elegant Four Seasons Hotel and enjoy this very elegant and soothing experience. "Complete tea" is priced at USD19 per person and includes your choice of tea and delightful finger foods. Scones are served with Devonshire cream and fresh fruit preserves. There are also tarts, cookies, and finger sandwiches, such as cucumber and other varieties. If you have a lighter appetite, a "half tea" is also available for USD10 and includes the scones only. The last seating is at 4:30pm.
Hamada of Japan
Welcome to true authentic Japanese dining in every way. This popular restaurant offers sashimi (raw fish) as its standard appetizer and it is the freshest around. Sushi is also available a la carte or as a meal. The menu lists such items as a combination tempura and teriyaki chicken platter, as well as other combination platters. All entrees come with soup, salad, a shrimp appetizer, vegetable and rice. Japanese beers and saki are also offered. The restaurant's other branches include the Stratosphere Hotel Casino, the Regent, Flamingo Hilton Hotel Casino, Polo Tower Plaza, and the Rio All-Suites Hotel-Casino.
Make your reservations for discount hotel rooms in the
Las Vegas area, including:
Aruba Hotel
Formerly the Thunderbird Hotel, the Aruba Hotel sits on the Strip near the Stratosphere. You will save on accommodations since it is more a motel than hotel, and the location is convenient. Rooms are a bit spartan and rates can fluctuate greatly depending upon visitor volume. The Mission of the Bells Wedding Chapel is located onsite.
Luxor Hotel Casino
If you want to walk like an Egyptian, you've come to the right place. Opened in 1993, this hotel is a huge pyramid, fronted by a giant sphinx. The pyramid reaches 350 feet into the air, the equivalent of 36 stories. It is the world's largest atrium at 29-million cubic feet, and the light at the top is the brightest beam in the world.
Mandalay Bay Hotel Casino
Tropical lagoons, sandy beaches and island landscaping await at this premier vacation spot. The standard guest rooms are tastefully decorated and spacious. You will enjoy a large bath with imported stone accents and a soaking tub. The 135,000 square-foot casino is lush with foliage and flowing water. Dining choices include the Border Grill, Rock Lobster, Aureole and Trattoria del Lupo, a Wolfgang Puck experience. Rumjungle provides an exciting and unique night on the town.
