During your Chicago vacation, don't miss these great establishments and attractions:
Geja's Cafe
Fondue is an old classic that is back in style—at least so it seems from the amazing popularity of this romantic Lincoln Park spot. This is a great place for amorous couples, as well as fun group get-togethers. Numerous menu options are available offering different combinations of seafood, steak, chicken and vegetables. Prince Geja's Combination (USD36.95) gives you a chance to sample a bit of everything. All meals come with salads, a cheese fondue appetizer, a variety of dipping sauces and melted Belgian chocolate fondue as a dessert. An extensive wine list is an added bonus.
Phoenix
This Archer Avenue eatery has a loyal following who spare no effort to eat here. Don't dally, because the early diner gets the dim sum. Always crowded, this place has no problem filling seating for 500. The menu celebrates standard Asian fare but the portions are incredible. Try steamed, stir-fried or sauteed chicken, beef, pork or seafood with lots of optional ingredients. Bring friends and feast for under $20 per person. The staff is eager to please but very busy.
Tiffin - The Indian Kitchen
Outside the restaurant, a large neon sign loudly proclaims its name. Inside, the decor is elegant and upscale for Devon Avenue Indian restaurant standards. The ceiling is painted to resemble a happy, cloud-filled, blue-sky day. Specialties include the assorted appetizer platter, tandoor king prawns and the kadal chili chicken. Most dishes are under $10, seafood under $13, briyani rice dishes under $15. A more affordable weekday lunch buffet is also available. Unlike many Indian restaurants in Chicago, Tiffin offers a decent beer and wine list as well.
