During your Los Angeles vacation, don't miss these great establishments and attractions:
French Quarter
Open since 1974, this West Hollywood restaurant has been a local favorite. The decor is modelled after the French Quarter of New Orleans and is equally as charming and magical. The menu is full of favorites. For breakfast try the Eggs Benedict or a fluffy omelette. For lunch and dinner, favorites include the hot breast of turkey, braised pot roast, roast pork, cheese ravioli, seafood linguine or rosemary chicken.
Cinnabar
What was once a warehouse is now the coolest, Art Deco dining room/bar in this part of town, if not in the whole city. The room is very large and decorated like something out of an old Hollywood movie set. The bar was actually imported from another restaurant in Chinatown. Filled with low-fat sauces, the menu is inventive—dishes like Ostrich, Lamb Chops with Smoke Pepper Relish and a daily fish special will please anyone tired of the same old thing. Reservations are recommended.
Birraporetti's
This is an Irish pub and eclectic Italian restaurant. It is always happening, with live music every night featuring Kent & Miller with the Don Miller Orchestra. Every weeknight at 11:30pm, you can watch "Late Night with David Letterman" on the big screen TV. The decor is all brass and sparkling glass as well as comfortable booths and tables with cozy chairs. The great menu features an eclectic mix of items: the Manicotti is very good as is the New York Steak and Egg Fettucine. Also try Birraporetti's Grilled Chicken or one of the sandwiches such as the Italian Meatball. There is a full bar and an extensive wine list, with many good Italian red and whites to choose from, as well as French varieties and California Chardonnays and Zinfandels. Bottles range from $12 to $38 per bottle.
