During your Las Vegas vacation, don't miss these great establishments and attractions:
Ricardo's of Las Vegas
Enjoy the atmosphere of a Mexican cantina complete with strolling musicians. To start your meal, try the Sampler de Ricardos with beef quesadilla, stuffed jalapeno peppers, chicken taquitos and nachitos with assorted dipping sauces for $10.95. All the entrees are excellent, but an exceptional treat is the Filet del Rey, a seasoned flame-grilled beef filet with caramelized onions and chilies at $16.95. A vast array of unique chicken, pork and seafood dishes round out the menu. Margaritas of all flavors, tequila, wine and Mexican beer are available.
Samba Brazilian Steakhouse
Specializing in Rodizio or skewered meat, this restaurant has a unique method of interaction between diners and staff. There is constant serving of the fabulous grilled meats, and when you need to rest your stomach, you flip a little "samba doll" to red and the servers will pass you by. Flip it to green, and food will start arriving again. Each table is supplied with dipping sauces and then the selections of beef, chicken, sausage, pork and turkey start to arrive. The eatery is located in the Mirage Hotel. Reservations suggested.
Dona Maria's
This place is not fancy, but it will quickly become one of your favorites. The chef must be in tears in the kitchen, because he uses only the freshest jalapenos and other spices. The place is famous for its tamales, but you may want to try one of the combination platters to get a taste of several of the specialties. The tortillas are fresh and warm, the fajitas are way too much for any one person to finish. You can order the amazing margaritas by the pitcher, a perfect addition to the great food.
