During your Nashville vacation, don't miss these great establishments and attractions:

Wave Country
This water park is located just off Briley Parkway about a mile from the old Opryland USA and is a summertime must for kids of all ages. There's a huge wave pool and plenty of water slides. Kids will have no objection to spending the entire day here.

Grand Old Golf and Games
With three miniature-golf courses, go-kart track and a video arcade, this place, located near the Opryland Hotel, is sure to be a hit with your kids. You can easily spend the whole day here.

Fort Nashborough
Though it's much smaller than the original, this reconstruction of Nashville's first settlement includes several buildings that faithfully reproduce what life in this frontier outpost was like in the late 18th century. The current fort looks oddly out of place in modern downtown Nashville, but if you're interested in Tennessee's early settlers, this site is worth a brief look. Allow 30 minutes or more if you've got kids who want to play here.

Make your reservations for discount hotel rooms in the Nashville area, including:

Hilton Suites Nashville Downtown
One of Nashville's newest hotels boasts a bustling downtown location, palm-lined atrium lobby, and one of the city's hottest watering holes-Eddie George's Sports Grill, named for the Tennessee Titans' star running back. Booking a room here is a good bet if you plan to spend time at the Coliseum or the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, both of which are within short walking distance of the Hilton. Each suite comes equipped with a pullout sofa couch, two TVs, in-room movies and video games, microwave, refrigerator, coffeemaker and more, making the Hilton a comfy but sophisticated place to hang your hat while in Music City.

Loew's Vanderbilt Plaza Hotel
This posh high-rise across the street from Vanderbilt University maintains an air of quiet sophistication, which makes it the most luxurious West End hotel. European tapestries and original works of art adorn the travertine-floored lobby. In addition, the hotel houses the upscale Kraus commercial art gallery. The lower guest rooms, with angled walls that slope inward, are among the hotel's most charming, with a wall of curtains lending a romantic coziness. Service is gracious and attentive. Concierge-level rooms are more spacious and upscale and include complimentary breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres in an elegant lounge with a view of the city. One level below the lobby, you'll find a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.

Wyndham Union Station
Housed in the Romanesque Gothic former Union Station railway terminal, built in 1900, this hotel is a grandly restored National Historic Landmark. The lobby is the former main hall of the railway station and has a vaulted ceiling of Tiffany stained glass. Everywhere you look, there's exquisite gilded plasterwork. The hotel's best accommodations are the gallery deluxe rooms, which have 22-foot-high ceilings and huge arched walls of glass that overlook the lobby. A few other rooms also have high ceilings and large windows, and though unique, can get quite hot in the afternoon. Although all rooms offer exterior views, some also have the disadvantage of overlooking the railroad tracks, a plus for railroad buffs but perhaps less endearing to others. If you're looking for a unique and atmospheric accommodation in Nashville, this is it. Arthur's, the former train station's women's smoking room, is the hotel's premier restaurant and one of city's finest. For breakfast, there's the gallery, a raised area in the main lobby. The vaultlike McKinley Room, with its arched windows, stone walls, and Spanish floor tiles has been converted to a conference room.
