The Weisman Art Museum on the University of Minnesota campus sits on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River. The building's architecture is probably the best part of the exhibit -- the permanent collection inside is rather small. Canvases by Warhol and Lichtenstein share gallery space with other American artists from the early 20th century. Allow 30 minutes to an hour.

Science Museum of Minnesota
Hands-on exhibits introduce visitors to natural history, science, and technology in this massive museum. Highlights include the Bloodstream Superhighway, navigating a virtual towboat down the Mississippi River, and the dinosaur lab in the Hall of Paleontology. There's also an Omnitheater.
