During your Miami vacation, don't miss these great establishments and attractions:

Da Ermanno Ristorante
Chef Ermanno Perotti serves up exquisite Southern Italian specialties with style at this 45-seat trattoria on Biscayne Boulevard. Charmingly intimate, Da Ermanno caters to a varied clientele. Delicious entree choices ($10-$15) such as veal piccante, calamari fra diavolo, steak pizzaiola, linguine with clams, snapper with lemon, and a most notable eggplant parmesan are sure to please.

Pekko's Steakhouse
Pekko's (unlike many local restaurants) does not feature daring innovations in its menu, just good old-fashioned steaks and seafood. Located on fashionable Lincoln Road, this is the only steakhouse in the area. It is surrounded on all sides by sushi, fusion food, and cafe dining. For those who desire a substantial meal in the center of the South Beach scene, and there are many of them, Pekko's is a fabulous choice. Appetizers range from USD5-8; entrees average USD22.

Mark's South Beach
Mark's South Beach menu varies daily and features a large selection of imported wines and cheeses; dinner options include such temptations as Tenderloin of Beef stuffed with roasted garlic and served with polenta and root vegetables, and Black Grouper wrapped in ham and zucchini. Some complain that the portions are too small, but hey, models eat here, so what do you want? The front bar serves the largest and perhaps tastiest martinis on South Beach. The restaurant seats 145 and features dark wood floors and furniture with large-checked wallpaper.

Make your reservations for discount hotel rooms in the Miami area, including:

Mayfair House
Although this all-suite hotel is a historically famous Miami landmark. Centrally located in the heart of the city, renovations have added a few magnificent modern touches. Each of the suites looks out onto the open-air atrium and features mahogany dining tables, Japanese spa tubs, and private terraces. Two restaurants, a lounge, and a ballroom provide excellent dining and entertainment options. Chic boutiques and nightclubs are a few steps away.

Marlin Hotel
This hotel, another of the chic, beautiful Island Outpost properties, features some of the best interior design on South Beach, which is quite a feat. From the sleek silver Marlin Bar to the lush Shabeen Lounge, every detail is aimed at providing quality service and comfort to every guest. There's even a recording studio available for visiting musicians. An historic landmark, it's only minutes to designer shopping, chic bistros, and the famous beach.

Clevelander Hotel
Attached to the rowdy Clevelander restaurant and bar, this Miami beachfront hotel is the ultimate place to stay if you're looking for a party. There's always something going on downstairs and it's always free! While this may not be the most "local" spot on the beach, it is friendly, crazy, and central, attracting a fun-loving crowd of twenty- and thirty-somethings. With five bars, hotel guests must be at least 21 years old, as must patrons of the restaurant.
