OVERVIEW
DRIVING
The airport is five miles west of downtown Tampa and about 23 miles from downtown St. Petersburg.
Cell phone lot: A free cell phone lot allows people to park while they wait to pick up passengers. The cell phone lot is located across from the economy parking garage.
PARKING
Cheapest: Daily rates are $7 in the remote economy lot, with shuttle service to the airport.
Most convenient: The short-term garage, with direct access to all airsides, charges $1.25 per half-hour to an $18 dailiy maximum. Note: All vehicles entering the short-term garage will be stopped for a security inspection. A monorail connects to the long-term garage. The first hour of parking is free in both the short-term and long-term garages.
Valet parking: $24 a day. Valet drop-off and pick-up is on level 5 of the short-term garage.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION
Bus: Hillsborough Area Regional Transit buses stop at the east end of the red baggage-claim area. Route 30 connects to central Tampa for $1.50. Call (813) 254-4278 for more info.
Shuttle: SuperShuttle costs for door-to-door limo service vary widely by destination in Pasco, Pinellas and Hillsborough counties; call (800) 282-6817 for a quote. Sarasota-Tampa Express (941-727-1344) buses stop outside both red and blue baggage-claim areas and serve the Sarasota area starting at $29 each way.
Cab: Fares are $20 to $25 to downtown Tampa and about $45 to downtown St. Petersburg.

RENTAL CARS
Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz and Thrifty are at the airport. Several others serve the airport off-site, including National, Alamo and Payless.
GETTING AROUND THE AIRPORT
Tampa's airport is comprised of one tri-level main terminal, or "landside," and four concourses, or "airsides." Most shops and restaurants are located on the third, or "transfer," level.

Hotel: Access the airport Marriott Hotel from the main terminal's third level. The hotel offers day rates for lengthy layovers, as well as an outdoor pool and a health club available for the use of non-registered guests.
