OVERVIEW
DRIVING
The airport is about six miles from downtown Miami, 10 miles from Miami Beach and 29 miles from downtown Fort Lauderdale.
Passenger pick-up: Drivers picking up passengers can park in the cell phone waiting lot free of charge while making contact with travelers. The lot is open during daylight hours only and is located just off of LeJeune Road and N.W. 31st Street; accessible from LeJeune Road heading north or south.
PARKING
Cheapest: Rates are $4 per hour for the first two hours, $2 each for the third and fourth hours and $15 daily at the Dolphin and Flamingo long-term garages. Moving sidewalks connect them to the terminal.
Most convenient: Short-term parking near the terminal is $2.50 per half hour and $30 daily.

Security: MIA restricts parking within 300 feet of the terminals when the U.S. government deems the national security risk "severe" or "high." Find the current risk level
GROUND TRANSPORTATION
Bus: The cheapest way out of the airport is by bus, which costs about $1.50. The bus stop is on Level 1, Concourse E.
Shuttle: A shuttle van to downtown costs $14.
Rail: Shuttle connections are available from the Concourse E bus station to Metrorail, which serves Miami-Dade County, and Tri-Rail, which links Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
Cab: A taxi to downtown will run you about $22.
RENTAL CARS
Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Royal and Thrifty have counters at the airport, and several other rental agencies also serve MIA. All vehicle pick-up and drop-off locations are off-site, so you'll need to ride a courtesy shuttle.

Post office: Fourth level of Concourse B.
Baggage storage: Concourse E, Level 2, open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Cost varies by baggage size. Call (305) 869-1163 or (305) 869-1193.
Bank: A full-service Bank of America is at Concourse B, Level 4.
ATMs: Service centers on concourses C and G, Level 2 and throughout the terminal's second level.
