DRIVING
LaGuardia is nine miles from midtown Manhattan, but the drive can take as long as 45 minutes.
PARKING
Cheapest: Several private, off-site airport lots offer rates ranging from $14 to $20 per day. Long-term parking (in Lot 3 only) is $30 for each of the first two days, then $5 for each 8 hours thereafter. There are also discounted rates for people with disabilities.
Most convenient: Short-term rates start at $3 for the first half-hour, $6 for up to an hour and $3 for each hour thereafter.
Drivers participating in the New York area's E-ZPass Plus system can now use their passes to pay for parking at LaGuardia. MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover cards also are accepted.
LGA will restrict parking within 300 feet of the terminals, when the U.S. government deems the national security risk "severe" or "high." Find the current risk level.
GROUND TRANSPORTATION
Shuttle: New York Airport Service Express and SuperShuttle Manhattan operate shuttle buses between LaGuardia and several stops in midtown Manhattan, with fares ranging from $12 to $22 each way.
Bus: Several public bus routes will get you into Manhattan, including the NYC Transit Authority's M60 bus, which connects with subway trains 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 1, 9, A, C and D. Bus and subway fares are $2 each, but the transfer is free with a MetroCard.
Cab: A cab ride costs about $21 to $25 to upper Manhattan and about $26 to $30 to lower Manhattan, plus tip and tolls. There also is a $1 surcharge from 4 to 8 p.m. on weekdays and a 50-cent surcharge for trips from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily. Remember to get a taxi through a uniformed dispatcher at the airport. GETTING AROUND THE AIRPORT

The free shuttle buses linking the terminals run every 10 to 15 minutes, and the trip can take up to 15 minutes. If you take a cab, prepare to spend $3 to $7.
