The room was beautiful, very comfortable, very upscale, but nothing beats the pool area (and the wonderful view). The ... location is great and the restaurant is excellent. Staff not very friendly (with a couple of exceptions).

One night stay
Princess P Nov 23, 2009
Overall, the stay was pleasant. It was only for one night. The rooms were retro and simple. Bed was comfortable. Minibar had ... loads of items to choose from..The rooftop offers a fantastic 360 view of most of Los Angeles, sparkling pool and lots of seating areas.. Now, the negative experience is, the fact, that the hotel is designed where all the rooms either have windows facing east or west, so, they all don't have beautiful views of the city from the balconies..I would have much preferred a sliding glass door for the shower, instead of a curtain. The tv was not crystal clear, perhaps, it was just our room. And the noise from the halls were mostly from the doors that didn't properly close on its own. But, i enjoyed what the hotel offered for the rate..

Very young & hip.. close to everything.
Joseph S. Aug 1, 2009
We are a young couple on vacation so Thompson had a great location and a lot of young, hip night-club action so we really ... didnt have to go anywhere if we didnt want to.. altho the pool was so packed on the weekends we couldnt even sit down.. the scene was so entertaining and fun we still really enjoyed it. Great roof top pool and bar! The food was great everywhere, from the rooftop, room service to the restaurant. The front desk staff was aloof, a lot of attitude but they were willing to help if asked. The rooms are great, the beds very comfortable, great flat screen tv with cable..cleaning service could have been better, but overall it was all a great experience and we would definately stay there again.

chic beverly hills hotel

Great experience. The rooftop pool was fabulous but not enough chairs. Get there early before the pool boy starts reserving ... chairs and cabana people start demanding chairs. Beautiful people, great staff, very LA.

caters to the 20 something locals
Tricia May 28, 2009
Great location to Rodeo Drive. Was not real pleased with the decor in the rooms and the hallways. We were able to get ... passed that after the first day. We loved the pool and bar but was very dissappointed that the hotel often has local 20 somethings from the area host their own private parties there. If we were in any other state it probably wouldn't of bothered me soo much, but...it became very crowded and became more of a atmosphere for who's who rather than trying to cater to hotel guests. I think these 20 somethings bring this hotel a lot of money and they are more inclined to impress and cater to these individuals rather than their own guests. I wouldn't recommend you go over any holidays unless you are a young beautiful single with a "good" address looking to have a good time partying with the Beverly Hills/LA singles. I would imagine that this would be a nice place to stay during the weekdays. I imagine it is one of the least expensive hotels in the area. But keep in mind it is a small hotel with out a lot of the thrills and atmosphere that the other hotels have. The staff is nice but there really isn't much of a conceirge service at this hotel. If you have a question you are better off calling the front desk.

The Thompson Hotel in Beverly Hills offers a very glamorous experience. From the minute you walk into the contemporary ... botique hotel, you are draped in classy comfort. The staff was very accommodating and the room was clean and stylish.

Thompson Hotel
Eddy Nov 1, 2008
The hotel only has 2 very old elevators which take long for them to get you to your floor etc.. The restuarant is not very ... good. I have eaten there twice, it is overated for the price you pay. The decor is black in the hall ways, the truth is I couldnt wait to leave after two days checked in. The lounge on the roof is great!!! 95% of the staff were very friendly. Beware of $30 a day for parking.

For the young at heart
Perry Sep 21, 2008
The staff was very friendly and attentive to your every need. The clientel was generally on the young and hip side which is ... fine by me. The only issue we had was when my wife went to take a bath there was hair in the drain. My wife not being a complainer just scooped up the hair and put it on the side of the tub so the staff would be sure to notice it the next day. When we returned from shopping the next day and the room was cleaned we looked at the tub and the hair was still on the side of the tub.
