In the heart of Manhattan, near attractions, shopping and the midtown business district, the Metro is an excellent location for both corporate and leisure travelers. Less than one block from Macy's and from the Empire State Building.
The Metro Grill serves lunch and dinner M-F, dinner only S-S. Our bar and cocktail lounge are open until 11:00pm Sun-Thur, and 12:am F-Sat.
The roof terrace is open seasonally for our guests during most daytime hours. During the evenings, weather permitting, a bar that is also open to the public operates and while guests are certainly welcome, they need to make reservations with the restaurant for a table. On rare occasions the roof is booked as a party space and access can be limited or restricted during those periods (usually just a few hours per event).
A conference room is available for small meetings or use as a showroom.

Hotel Metro is a find
stinkymountain Nov 20, 2009
Hotel Metro is a nice alternative to those giant Times Square behemoths. It's in a great location -- a half block from Macy's ... and Herald Square park. It's on a relatively quiet side street, W. 35th. If you take the train to Penn Station, it's a 5-minute walk to the hotel. The rooms are small, but everything works, so the square footage seems like a minor issue. If you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of Times Sq, this is a good alternative. One extra thing: the hotel offers a continental breakfast in a room with big couches and comfortable chairs, so you can have a relaxing breakfast prior to hitting the city.

Not as good as I expected

The Metro Hotel is a good small hotel. The room we had was very noisy primarily due to a fronting the street. Something to ... avoid. A better room location would have made a great difference.

Great stay
Going for the museums! Oct 19, 2009
We stayed on the 12th floor, which was high enough to filter out most of the street noise. The rooms were clean and the ... housekeeping did a great job. The shower was large and comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. The beds were comfortable--I slept great! I didn't try the fitness center, but I looked at it and it was beautiful and very clean. I did use the business center to print out my boarding pass, and it was everything I needed. Also, note that the rooftop has a fantastic view of the Empire State Building. I would stay at this hotel again and again.

Hotel Metro

Based on previous mid-town Manhattan bait and switch internet advertising, Hotel Metro followed up on it's own self ... promotion. Great price for the location, great location, good service, very clean, quiet rooms, but typical for Manhattan, very small rooms. Generally, very pleased with the experience.

We LOVE this hotel!
NYC Visitor Oct 8, 2009
We've stayed in lots of different hotels in New York, but this is our favorite and we always go back to it if we can. It's ... clean, comfortable, great service, good complimentary breakfast, and in the heart of New York City in Koreatown, it's in the best location, too. I can't recommend Hotel Metro highly enough.

Andrea Oct 2, 2009
I expected the location of this hotel, steps from Herald Square, would be great but was pleasantly surprised by the room. A ... large room, beautifully decorated, with very comfortable beds and lots of pillows was a real treat. It was immaculately clean and had not only a large bathroom but also a roomy closet. The termperature was quite comnfortable and everything worked as it should. The staff was professional, polite and helpful and the price was great. I will certainly stay here again!

My daughter and I stayed 4 days, for school shopping and whirlwind sightseeing. Lets face it the price is amazing, your right ... mid-town off 6th ave or 5th. Food of all kinds surround. Sweet helpful staff, Very clean and classy with a European room size (smaller) and decor. Free light breakfast is nice, saves $, and Macys across the street..

The hotel was in a great location and very central to most attractions. Rooftop terrace has a great view of the Empire State ... Bldg. but bar is only open for lunch. Nice continental breakfast, but the front desk was unfriendly, and not helpful. Rooms were roomy and clean, but rooms facing 35th were noisy.

This hotel had a great location and a great price. It was litterally next to the Hampton and the Hilton, but why pay more ... for a name? The hotel was was really nice and so was the staff. We came on a bus trip that dropped us off at 33rd and 7th and the walk to the hotel was less than 10 mins. The check in/out process was extremely fast!!!

Ellen Sep 24, 2008
Our minature bed was extremely uncomfortable for two and the room had about 2 feet to spare on it's three sides. Yes, clean ... and neat. Staff friendly and polite. But still, an incredible rip-off in any place but NYC. If you are looking for an upscale youth hostel, you will be happy here.

Excellent Location
James Sep 23, 2008
Excellent location close to the Empire State Building with a rooftop patio for all guests available 24hrs. Rooms are ... slightly bigger than what I would expect for a Manhattan hotel. (But still small.) Great continental breakfast each morning where you can lounge in a comfy dining room where you can read the paper or watch the morning news on tv. Staff was very friendly as well. On the downside, the heater in our room was not working. We stayed in Sept. So for most of our stay, it was unnecessary to use it. There are only a couple of elevators. So during rush hours of foot traffic, expect to wait a little. But overall, I would return there if I had the opportunity.

Walter Sep 3, 2008
With the high cost of hotels in NYC, this hotel made a compromise between room size and cost. When all you need is a place to ... sleep and shower, this is a great place. They had everything a business man needed except space to pace about.

1. Walk a few blocks west to Ninth Avenue, and you'll find all kinds of reasonably priced ethnic restaurants. And don't hesitate to stop and get food from the street vendors--it's fantastic. 2. Bryant Park is just a few blocks up Sixth Avenue, a lovely oasis that's a perfect place to people-watch.
