The Old Town Historic La Quinta Inn & Suites Irvine Spectrum is in a league of its own. Easy access from Rt 5

We travel to Irvine 3-4 times a year. This is THE closest hotel we have found to our destination and were anxious to try it ... out. Unfortunately our 3rd flr rm was next to barking dogs and above the early morning trash pickup. Also there was an excessive amount of cars early in the morning coming into the parking lot to attend a meeting at the restaurant across the way.

The La Quinta Irvine has a lot of charm since it's basically a converted grain silo, but if you get a room on the train side ... of the hotel you'll hear a very loud train go by every half hour that shakes the room.

Very close to train tracks! Be prepared for passing of high speed trains at two hour or less intervals! Variety of hot and ... cold items for continental breakfast.

Noisy Inn and Suites

If you love noise, this is the place for you! There was no mention that a railroad ran next to this Inn! There was no need ... for alarm clock as the rumble and horn of the trains blared since sun up. The bathroom had a runny toilet that did it's part on the noise annoyance every 3 mins. Then there was the cinco de mayo crowd at the tequila bar/restaurant next door. ay carumba!

Great comfort and nostalgic design. Beds are very comfortable, but the train tracks are right next door. If you don't mind ... the train going by in the middle of the night the location and amenities are very good.
