check in fiasco
Janjan Jan 28, 2010
Check in was horrible. We waited 1 hour to check in and there were only 4 people before us. They stated it was a computer ... problem, but there was only ONE person checking guests in (meanwhile there were several staff personnel behind the desk) It was outrageous !!! the lobby was mobbed with guests waiting to check in.

The hotel was very centrally located. Close to shopping & the theater district. Great restaurants close by, & at night very ... secure. They checked that you had a room key before letting you in the lobby. Bathrooms were small & breakfast was very expensive. Overall a good experience. I will stay there again.

This is the perfect mid town location. Large hotel but quiet, comfortable rooms, well appointed for this class of ... hotel. Everything you would want for a stay in NYC when most of your time is spent out on the town. This was not my first stay at this hotel. MoMa is less than a block away.

Beautiful and convenient
Mars Jan 15, 2010
I had a fantastic vacation. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room looked great. The location was perfect. I ... was able to go to all of my favorite places without much walking. This was my first time staying at a luxury hotel so I don't have much comparison, however, it met my expectations. The only criticism that I can give you is the bathtub/shower didn't drain that well. Other than that I enjoyed my stay and I would definately stay there again. Thank you for an unforgettable trip.

NYC trip post NYE
Rusty Jan 3, 2010
I didn't spend a whole lot of time in the hotel itself. The location had too much to offer and kept me busy. The room was ... comfortable, but my TV wasn't working and I had a friend fix it and my window was slightly open, which lent to a chilly return one night! All in all it was a very pleasant experience.

When you book through the web you get the rooms others don't want. Ours was next to the stairs and extremely small-queen bed ... is all that could fit in the room. Otherwise it was clean, nice and comfortable. We were in the city and not in our room, so we were happy. Really look ahead for place to eat. There are a lot of great ones and not so great ones. Avoid the hotel dining unless you like to spend a fortune. Stage deli and Carmines are 2 good places. Make reservations for Carmines!Look into the subway-it will save you a bundle.

Food and drinks are a little pricey at the hotel, but a lot of other choices within blocks. There's a little diner less than a block away called Astro's. We ate at a lot of talked about restaurants in NY but this classic NY diner had the best clam po'boy I've ever had, I like to think I know seafood, I mean we're from Florida but that sandwich GOOD. Waiter didn't tell us his name or act servile, he barely managed a smile but he did his job tres well!

The special pricing for multi attraction tickets and discounts is well worth it. Not only did we get a lot of value for our money there were often no cost extras included for those with the packages. Details can be found at any visitor information center or at the hotel.

There are so many things to do in a five block radius or so. You can walk to central park, the Museum of Modern Art, the theater district, Times Square and dozens of fabulous restaurants. Radio City Music Hall is one block, Rockefeller Center two blocks. They have a discount ticket area now in the middle of Times Square. You can get a great discount on all Broadways shows the day of (except Wicked)
