Great choice for business

This is an excellent hotel with amenities geared for the business traveler. In-room DSL is available for a small charge. ... There are also a couple of computers available in the lobby. The restaurant doubles nicely as an informal meeting place. There are also medium sized conference halls available, but best reserved ahead of time. (We tried to reserve a small break out room while we were there, but unfortunately everything had already been reserved.) Very friendly and helpful staff. Recommended.

Great hotel near the airport

I was in the Chicago area for my nephew's graduation from Navy boot camp and stayed near the base until the night before I ... returned home. I needed something near the airport for the last night of my trip. The Hyatt was located close to airport and I very much appreciated the shuttle service. The hotel was clean and the staff was quite accomodating. It was also located close to Shoeless Joe's Sports Bar and a nice italial restaraunt. Overall, it was a positive experience.

Decent but not great

We stayed there one night for our Anniversary. We had events in the area planned, so we did not spend much time in the room. ... They had a wedding at the hotel so the halls were noisy, but tolerable. The one thing I absolutely did not like was the expensive room service breakfast we had. Simple orders of eggs were not good, tasteless. And the prices were ridiculous.

We came in for an extended weekend stay. The front desk clerk was very cordial and informative and we were able to check in ... early. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. We would definitely stay there again.

We wanted to stay out of the downtown area and the downtown prices. This location was a 20 minute ride to all the downtown ... attractions. We attended the Blue Man Gorup performance as our primary attraction. The Hyatt was a fantastic price, very clean and the staff was friendly! Would return!

No reservations?!?!

They did not have my room reservations sent to them from Orbitz and I had to wait in the lobby for them to find me a room. My ... family was tired after the long drive and was ready to settle in. They didn't want to give me the room that I reserved ahead of time and wanted to substitute for something else. They told me that it wasn't there fault that they didn't receive my reservations from Orbitz, so I guess they were going to give me whatever was available. I was not happy at all, and not until after voicing my disapproval were they will to make an attempt to make me happy. And the worst case of it all was they did not have a pool or hot tub. The parking was also weird because you had to go down the elevator, through the front lobby, out the front doors and across the street to the parking garage and catch the elevator to the floor wherever you were parked...very weird that the garage is not attached to the hotel.

The purpose of this visit was business with "savings" on the agenda. The price was right; the shuttle service from O'Hare ... was ideal; the food amenities were just right especially for breakfast (although the kitchen closes early for a late arrival of 11:00 p.m.). We used the airport shuttle to get us to the "L" at O'Hare for the trip down to Wrigley Field. Very comfortable rooms and big bathroom.

Worst hotel I've stayed at for a long time.Could not call front desk - had to personnally go there. No ice machine on second ... floor had to go to any other floor but mine to get ice-ridiculous!Soda machine didn't work.Found this hotel to be a 1 star hotel at best. Your rating system for hotels needs to be scrutinized--would never trust a rating from your site again....no pool either....baaaad

The hotel is located about 1 mile from the train station and once at the train station it is about a 45 min ride to downtown ... Chicago. This will only cost you $3 for a round trip/person. However if you want to get a cab to downtown Chicago it will be about $45-$50. They provide a free shuttle to the airport and to another Hyatt down the road (which is right next to the train station). The hotel is newly renovated and the rooms are nice and spacious. The hotel is generally quiet. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There is decent food at the hotel. There is no free internet access it costs $10 for 24 hours.

The shopping on Michigan Avenue is great. There are three malls and the Navy Pier is very close. It is a 45 min train ride from the hotel but will only cost you $3/person for a round trip. Otherwise it is $45-$50 by taxi. Great area for families with children 5-18 because the pier has rides and different activities for all ages and shopping for older kids.

Unfortunately it was raining, but the Hyatt did help much we got on the Shuttle that said Rosemount, but they forgot to ... tellus there are two Hyatt's we got off and the wrong one along with to other travelers only to find out we are at the wrong one. Back into the rain and another 10 minutes. Once we got there becuase of the rain we are captured, the food was small portions and overly expenseive. All in all not a good night. Should have stayed at the Hilton, would have cost us the same after the inconviences
