Monterey is always great

A little hard to find the entrance, but we just had to go around the block. Check-in was easy. If you are on the upper ... floors, you can take the elevator, but then you have to go down alot of stairs to get to your room. The room was lovely and large. About a 5 minute walk to Cannery Row. Great shops and restaurants. Ate at The Chart House, which is always excellent. About a 15 minute walk to Fisherman's Wharf, but it's not as good as it used to be. They had a wine and cheese happy hour, which was very nice. Great breakfast.

Entrance to hotel has small sign & limited lighting at night making it hard to find. If you have poor mobility the steps to ... the rooms at ground level could be a problem. Staff friendly, knowledgable about the area.

We went to Monterey just to get away for a couple of days and enjoy the area. This hotel was located right in the middle of ... everything, yet it was quiet. A complimentary breakfast was served every morning starting at 6:00, with a nice selection of cold cereal, eggs, omelets, breads, muffins. At 5:30 in the evening complimentary wine and cheese were served, which was a nice touch after a full day of sight-seeing. Our room was large, and it had a refrigerator. Everything we wanted to do was within walking distance-we parked our car when we got there and didn't move it again until we went home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to stay there again.

The paved walk that runs around Monterey Bay is fabulous. We got lots of exercise and fresh air and saw wonderful sights.

Noisy!

The location was excellent - close to everything and we didn't hear any outside road noise. We stayed on the third floor and ... whenever people arrived with rolling luggage is echoed down the hallways. We had a family that let their children scream and run wild but when we complained to the desk, they did take care of the problem immediately. Did not like our room being right around the corner from the elevator - would choose a different room. Thought the 5:00 wine and cheese snacks were a nice touch. Staff was very nice also.

Good Value. Great Location close to all amenities. Clean and the staff is very helpful. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. ... It was exactly what we were looking for in a hotel....quality without excess frills.

Nice hotel, but stay away from Rm. 101

We've stayed here before, but this time we got Rm. 101, which is RIGHT next door to the main office where breakfast is ... served. We like to sleep in and don't care about breakfast and asked the desk for a different room, but they said it was very quiet. WRONG...we were jolted out of bed each morning we stayed there at 6:00 AM. Great location, great place to stay, but stay away from this room!!

What should have been a room for maybe $125.00 a night for the location only, was over $200.00! The room was located above a ... very busy road which made it very difficult to sleep because of the noise. Located on the 3rd floor (there was no view at all)with stairs going down, then up, so that carrying luggage was very difficult. I would not stay in this motel/hotel again and would not recommend using Orbitz for my next trip.

Love the location so close to Cannery Row. Price was a little high would have stayed another night if the price was a bit ... lower. The continental breakfast was nice and the front desk provided friendly service. Room 110 was great, although the curtains dont exactly block out the view in or out, from the sidewalk. King bed is very comfortable. Didnt bother us but just found it interesting. Underground parking is very tight, even for small cars.

The Holiday Inn Express was very warm and welcoming. There was a free cocktail hour at night and a wide variety of breakfast ... food in the morning. When I ran out of toothpaste, the hotel manager ran up to our room within minutes to give me a complimentary tube! Although I was traveling with my boyfriend, I noticed it was a very family-friendly hotel. Rooms were quiet and blocked a lot of the noise from outside.

Check out the Fishermans Grotto or other Seafood-specific restaurants, don't bother getting food at the pubs in the area, stick to the good stuff! Often times, you can sample clam chowder from different places!

The Holiday Inn Express is a half-block away from Cannery Row, it's clean, the rooms are big and your stay includes free ... breakfast, free wine/cheese, and free parking, plus the rooms are air conditioned. This is a GREAT value for the area and accommodations. There were alot of families, but if you don't mind a bit of extra noise, this is a terrific place to stay!

The Holiday Inn at Cannery Row is what you are looking for if you don't want the hustle and bustle of the bigger hotels ... (which I don't mind). But as for a place to lay our heads on a romantic getaway this was the perfect place. The hotel staff were very nice and pleasant.The room was clean and fresh. The bed was very comfy. The location was very much so within walking distance of everything with the exception of the wharf. I would stay here again without a doubt.

The location of this hotel in Cannery Row, near very expensive hotels, is incredible. You can walk to Lovers Point, The ... Wharf, downtown, and the historical areas. It's very close (walking distance) to many great restaurants,shopping outlets,the IMAX Theater, the Acquarium and the beache. Even though this hotel does not have a business center, the staff made photocopies for me when I asked. The staff is very curteous, friendly and professional. I was also surprised about their breakfast -- I expected it to be continental, but It's a full breakfast with eggs, sausages, buiscuit and gravy in addition to cereal, yogurt and pastry. The room size was very comfortable and very clean. I'll always stay in this hotel when I visit Monterey.

The sport trail is my absolute favorite in the area. During the week we spent in Monterey, I was able to walk for at least one hour on the the sport trail, along the coast.

The Holiday Inn Express on Wave Street was a charming, comfortable hotel which was well maintained by a helpful, ... friendly,smiling staff. Our room was large and nicely decorated. It included a fridge, iron and coffee pot. The grounds were beautifully landscaped, and free paking was available. The breakfast area was pleasant, and there was nice choices of cereals,pastries,yogurt, juices and milk and coffee. Cannery Row restaurants and shops are in easy walking distance,as well as the Aquarium. Tickets for the Aquarium can be purchased at the hotel so no wait in line to get in! We used local taxis to attend Jazz Fest..and promt efficient service was available. This is a great hotel! Would use again.

The Holiday Inn Express - Cannery Row Monterey is in a great location. Within walking distance of Cannery Row, the Monterey ... Aquarium, excellent restaurants, childrens activity museum and beyond. Nice complimentary breakfast and evening wine & cheese refreshments. Staff refreshed the food often. Comfortable bed, clean room, friendly staff. Most important was being able to park our car - complimentary - and not use it for three days. We will definately be back.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was large and there was plenty of room for all of our luggage. The bed ... was very comfortable. We always get a good night's sleep in a Holiday Inn Express. The location couldn't have been better for visiting Cannery Row and the Monterey Aquariam. It was a little difficult getting all of our luggage to the room. After taking the elevator to the third floor, we had to remove our bags from the cart then walk down and then up another set of stairs to the room. Other than that, there were no complaints only complements. I would love to stay there again.
