I arrived Thur Nov 5 for 5 nights for the Titans/49ers game. First time ever in San FranciscoTook Go Lorrie's Shuttle from ... the Airport. You can take the BART, but I didn't know how or how far the stop is from the hotel w/luggage. I was alone for couple days and felt safe walking around at night - within reason. Yes, there are homeless ppl, but all major metro cites have homeless ppl - you are lucky if you are shocked by homeless ppl.The hotel met my expectations - clean and comfortable. Room 608 was facing the street - but not too loud and I didn't have any problem w/cellphone signal (Verizon). The room looks exactly like the pic on the website! Yes, the rooms are a little small, but that is to be expected in an old hotel. 1 of 2 elevators was out for couple days, but not a big deal - The housekeeping was adequate, but a little stingy w/the towels, I had to call and ask for extras. I did not have a flat screen TV and the A/C was hard to adjust - these are little things that didn't ruin my trip. The evening wine reception was AWESOME and nice to chat w/staff and other guests.I didn't eat in the Midi restaurant - a little froufrou for my taste, but there is plenty within walking distance! I had a nice steak dinner at Bob's Steak & Chop House in the Omni (ask for [...], great server who drew me a map to his favorite spots) There is a Walgreen's across the street for snacks, Pomodoro Pizza around the corner, Murphy's Bar across the street, Union Square and Chinatown are both within walking distance (and I'm lazy!)I took F Streetcar to Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz, and Ferry Building - I thought it was fun to find my way around the big city!DO NOT MISS the Farmer's Market if you are there Tue, Thur or Sat - it was the most amazing thing - the fresh fruits/vegetables/local vibe and food vendors on the waterfront - I didn't feel like a tourist. Recommend the RoliRoti - Gourmet Rotisserie Chicken - the line is really long, but you can go to the front if you're just getting a lunch plate!Feel free to email me if you have any questions - I had a great trip and thought Galleria Park was a pretty good value for the money and recommend it to others!

If you are in town for a couple of days get the muni pass at the bottom of powell st where the cable car turns around. you can get a one day pass for 11 dollars or a three day pass for 18 dollars. This pass will get you all over the city from Union Square to the Golden Gate Bridge/ Park even down to the Warf. It's good for all transportation except the BART. Also down the street is a little place called City Girls (cafe), they make the best breakfast sandwich (so fresh) for about the same price as a fast food breakfast. Delicious!

Rooms were very clean , not huge , but not crowded either . The location was ideal , close to Chinatown and Union Square . Traffic was a bit noisy at night , but earplugs solved that problem . This was a trip to see a city we have never seen before but only heard of. The hotel was very beautiful and clean. The people ... were very nice and helpful. I would say very centrally located; walking distance to union square, china town and local transporation services. I loved the beds and having a TV that worked. By far this hotel was the best out of any other hotels I have stayed at. Keep up the great work! And thanks for making our trip memorable.

Amazing location, adorable hotel!
LisaMarie Sep 29, 2009
I arrived at the hotel around 1:30pm on a Friday and assumed I'd have to wait till 3pm for check-in, but upon walking up to ... the front desk, my room was ready! The check-in process was very fast and the lobby is decorated so well and the artistic fireplace is a nice touch. When I got to my room on the 7th floor, it was so cute & perfect for my weekend stay. Queen-sized bed (def comfy), beautiful clean bathroom, relaxing color scheme throughout. I've stayed at many hotels during my travels and the Galleria Park Hotel in SF surely ranks up at the top of my list. The location is amazing - walk outside and you have a multitude of shopping and dining options. Also, there's a Walgreen's and a 7-11 very nearby so it's nice to be able to get drinks/snacks conveniently during your stay. If you walk only 2 blocks, you will be at Union Square which is a great place to sit & soak up the beauty that is San Francisco. Check-out was also a breeze, although I certainly didn't want to! Another convenient bonus of the hotel's location is that it is honestly a 2 minute walk to the Montgomery BART station. I walked the short distance and hopped on the train to get to SFO. Overall, I give this hotel a raving review for many reasons!! This is THE way to stay in SF - forget those huge chain hotels that you can stay at anywhere. The Galleria Park is a stylish boutique hotel and will make your trip one-of-a-kind and truly unforgettable. I will def stay there again!!

Hidden Gem in Union Square
annual SF visitor Sep 27, 2009
very convenient to Bart Line from airport. only 2 blocks from Montgomery station and you are at hotel door. did not have to ... hassle with the shuttles except on return trip when I left super early before Bart ran. room was ready even though I was 3 hours early. small but very clean room, bed, sheets and bathroom w/ writing desk and easy chair w/ ottoman: all that I needed for work. nice size queen bed but would consider asking for room w/ 2 beds if not traveling alone. free internet w/ decent speed; both wired and wireless which was one of my necesities. electronic room safe was also convenient. ask for inner courtyard room which I think is quieter but I had no problems w/ noise even on the weekend. great location close to everything around Union Square, financial district, Chinatown, SoMa except if you have an event up on Nob Hill: the climb up is a killer. there is the California cable line but the wait for me was discouraging. there is an evening wine tasting which is popular and sociable. this is my second stay in past 4 years and I can see a significant remodeling and upgrade in bathroom, decor, and furnishings. will definitely return on next trip out. very helpful staff who quickly offered to arrange shuttle pickup when I inquired.

Business Buddy Sep 4, 2009
I checked into the hotel to go to a 7 day business conference. Being only 2 blocks from the conference hotel, it was a great ... deal for the money! The room and bathroom were a little small and were in the old San Francisco style, but it was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The front desk staff were very attentive to any needs I had, and a bottle of wine and a free upgrade were waiting for me when I joined their free Joy of Life Club. Those were nice perks. Not the most upscale of hotels, but it compared reasonably well to other hotels I've stayed at in San Francisco in regards to decor and space, and comparably had a great location and price.

This hotel places you smack dab in the middle of all that is touristy. No need for a car as everything is accessible by ... foot. If you do bring a car you will need to have the valet park your car. This was the only downside of the hotel where you must pay 35 dollar a day parking fee. Other than that the rooms were acceptable for the price. They offered free wine drinking between 5PM and 6PM every day that I was there. The staff was helpful and friendly. I would not hesitate to come back here again.

This hotel has a great staff, my sheets were changed daily even when I did not request this service. The room was small but ... well laid out. The location is perfect 3 blocks from Union Sq. 1 block from China Town 1 block from Muni and the Bart. This is a very safe neighborhood but everything for a two-block radius closes by 9 pm. The hotel restaurant is expensive with decent food, good service and late hours. The only drawbacks were that there was a little mold in the shower area and the noise from the garbage trucks at night disturbed my sleep. These trucks run all night long. I was on the 5th floor and could hear the trucks, ambulances and some loud passersby's, however I am a very light sleeper. My daughter slept through everything.

Traveler Aug 6, 2009
Lovely hotel, excellent staff, very cool terrace on the third floor, nice perks with free coffee/tea/WiFi (although there ... were no instructions in the room on how to log onto the WiFi, luckily, we guessed correctly). Good location, walking distance to Bart and restaurants. The room itself was nicely furnished, with a comfy bed and soft bed linens. The walls are well soundproofed - the hotel was booked solid, and we didn't hear a peep from anyone next to, above, or below us! Unfortunately, the door is not, because we could hear EVERYTHING in the hallway. Hubby is a heavy sleeper and it kept him from sleeping more than an hour or two at a time (I had earplugs on). Such a shame, because the hotel otherwise is terrific! P.S. If you do choose to stay here, ask for a room facing the inside to avoid street/traffic noise.
