Beware of New Year's Eve!
Paula Jan 3, 2010
Our stay was ok. Very hard to find restaurants close and open. Quite a few closed stores and restaurants in and around the ... hotel. The really bad and ugly was that we were not notifed in advance by either [...] or the hotel that they were the site of a huge and very loud New Year's Eve party. The only hint we got was a pair of ear plugs the maid left on our night stand. The hotel lobby was crowded with security people and very intoxicated outsiders. And that was before they turned on the speakers!! Yes, like jet engines outside our room - and we were on the 31st floor. Our windows actually vibrated until 2:00am.The worst!!!!I wouldn't stay there again if they paid me to.

Nice elevated walk ways to connect you with with different downtown areas. Johnny Rockets (for hamburgers just across from ... the pool over one walk bridge) and if you walk to the bridge towards the YMCA there is McCormick and Schmidts. Beautiful holiday decorations. I liked the exercise equipment on the 3rd floor in the open area.

Want to Live at the Westin Bonaventure!
Bi Coastal Family Dec 14, 2009
The Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites in my view is the best hotel in downtown Los Angeles. We have stayed in the Red, ... Yellow and Green towers way up high for the best panoramic views of the city and in amazing newly renovated suites. Service is never a problem, you just call and not once have we had a problem getting extra amenities. Parking was hassle free! The hotel lobby was amazingly decorated for the holiday season, so with all the rain outside we didn't mind just hanging out at the hotel. Service at the hotel was always given with a smile. We left with big happy grins and will return for future stays. Thank you!!)

4 Star for certain guests?
4-Star Family Nov 6, 2009
This was not a 4-Star hotel, at least not the room we were assigned. As most of the reviews on other sites state there are ... 4 towers in the Westin Bonaventure. They are color-coded and color-coded. :) Some of the towers house older or not renovated rooms and some of the towets are modernized and definitely 4-star. My family was clearly sent to the 2, possibly 3 star tower. There was nothing wrong with the room, there simply wasn't anything right about it. And for 4 stars guests expect lots of right. Pay attention to the tower you're assigned, and to who else is assigned to those same rooms and you will have an eye-opening experience similar to the one my family had. There is ONLY valet parking. At 32 bucks a night that can ge a doozy. Since the hotel is very close to the Staples Center there are tons of parking garages, but the streets are not well-lit or populated at night. So, park outside the hotel valet for 5.00 a day at your own risk. Would I stay here again? Not likely! There are much better accomodations in the area, unless you're one of the chosen ones who get to experience the 4-Star tower. Good luck!

Great Hotel
CTguy Oct 19, 2009
I was attending an award show and conference this past weekend nearby and my first thought for hotel was the Bonaventure. My ... partner and I had stayed there a few years ago when we were in LA for a wedding and really liked it. Quiet atmosphere helped me get good sleep on a busy schedule. The staff was very professional, helpful and friendly. My first morning there I realized that I had forgotten my razor and shaving cream and was in a rush to get to my conference. I called for my missing supplies and a staff member had them at my door in five minutes! The room was also spotless and had a great view. My minor complaint is that my safe didn't work, but I was able to store my valuables at the desk. A little inconvenient, but not the end of the world. I highly recommend the Bonaventure!

I had a busy weekend, so I really ate in the hotel for the most part. Several restaurant choices on the 4th floor. I did get in late two nights in a row and found only one of them open after 10pm, but the food was good. I don't remember the name, but it was good pub food. Johnny Rockets and Quiznos across the street for convenience, too.

Book throught the hotel that way if you cannot make your trip you will at least get part of your money back. Also i found out after arriving in Las vegas that if i had book through the hotel I was staying at I would have gotten the same room for about $30 dollars cheaper. I was fool once but never again! I stayed at the Luxor which was very nice. I had a Tower Room as opposed to the pyramid rooms which are considerably smaller in size. The staff was absolutely outstanding in every aspect.

Check out the Steakhouse on the top floor of the hotel as it is really a treat. There is also another restaurant with more assortment of dishes attached to the hotel. There are also a bunch of good places to eat within walking distance of the hotel, whether you are looking to sit somewhere or grab something on the go. There is a movie theater across the street from the hotel as well.
