Wedding in Jacksonville

We were in Jacksonville for a wedding. The hotel itself is fine and its location right next to the river is nice but its ... location in relation to the rest of the city is not great. You walk 1 block up and you are in a very seedy area. If you have to go to Jacksonville, I would recommend the hotel since it is a pretty good deal but there is generally nothing to do once there.

There is a much smaller scale sort of Fisherman's Wharf equivalent a short walk from the hotel that offers some entertainment and dining but we found the dining in the hotel to be decent. Of course, you don't want to stay in the hotel the whole time if you can help it.

I had a great hotel experience although the Cheap Tickets reservation was cancelled before my arrival as the hotel had ... difficulty billing the Cheap Tickets credit card. The hotel accommodated me anyway and my second Cheap Tickets customer service rep was very helpful

We stayed here for the 4th of July Holiday, so the hotel was fully booked. The staff was not great. The water glasses that ... were provided in the room were filthy. The room had an overwhelming smell of cinnamon, like Big Red chewing gum.

Great Hotel
Jeannie Jul 6, 2009
The overall stay was great. The biggest negative for me was that there is a $15 per day parking charge that you are not ... aware of until you try to leave the parking garage. This fee applies regardless if you self-park or not. My child also dropped a glass in the bathroom and it broke. I cleaned it up but asked that housekeeping bring a broom to be sure I got it all up and after requesting two times they never did show up but I was there on a holiday weekend and they were REALLY busy. The location is amazing and there is lots to do without going too far. Overall great stay!

I liked the location of the hotel. Staff was nice. TV in the room was old and not appealing. Internet was not free. Rooms ... with the "city" view are horrible, you just look out onto a rooftop of some sort.

The landing was all that was going on in downtown Jacksonville. The city was a ghost town on the weekend.

didn't spend much time in the room but was dissappointed when it took nearly 30 minutes for bath cloths to be brought to us. ... none were left when the room was cleaned the night before and when we inquired, we were told that it was because they were in high demand. you think? duh!
