Great value!!!
E Dec 2, 2009
This is the third time we have stayed at Le Montrose. It is a great value for the money. The rooms are large, the bed is ... comfortable, there is a large screen TV on the wall in the bedroom area and another TV in the living area. Service is excellent. Employees are very friendly. We will definitely stay there again on our next visit to LA and our daughter and her family. The location is terrific, just down from Sunset Blvd and a couple of blocks from Santa Monica Blvd. Food at the hotel was good.

Not what I expected
Hollywood Nov 9, 2009
The first surprise is the $28 dollar a night parking charge. That is almost $300 for the amount of nights we were staying ... there! I was abit upset about that. My nephew came to visit for 2 hours and was towed outside the hotel. To park at the hotel would have cost him $28.00. No visitor parking for free The first room was ok except when you attempted to pull the shower plunger to start the shower the whole unit came out of the wall! The floor in the bathroom looked dirty and the view was another building being costructed. I complained to several staff members, then management and they had me pay about $200 for parking. They changed our room to a better suite that was nicer but the tub unit still came out of the wall some. (Not as bad as the first one though). Had 2 large screen tv's with gameboy for my son. Staff mostly was friendly. Hotel is in a funky area of residential homes. Is difficult to find at first. Had a cute little fire place. Gave us a suite without any cooking utensils to use in the kitchen for the second room. Over all it was an ok experience. Not what I thought of for a 4 star hotel.

It truly was a pleasant surprise to discover and explore Le Montrose. The art nouveau decor was complimentary to the cozy and ... secluded feeling of the property. The staff was invisible, yet accommodated my every request, and its laid back demeanor belied the fact that it was minutes away from LA's hottest destinations.

1/2 Star too many
Little Man Aug 18, 2009
The hotel screwed up my reservation, then the front desk guy was rude when I tried to get it fixed. Orbitz did a GREAT job ... getting things in order. The hotel is in a very convenient location, but the 4 Star rating that was posted was definitely too high. The "multi-million dollar renovations" weren't enough and the $$$ was poorly spent. The carpet was unravelling. The bathroom counters and tile didn't match, cheap bath/showers, etc. All-in-all. . .3 stars and overpriced.

The perfect choice in West Hollywood
The Big RM Aug 3, 2009
I can't praise Le Montrose enough! We were delighted with the location - less than five minutes from the heart of the Sunset ... Strip and walkable to much of West Hollywood, even as far as Robertson Boulevard and Melrose. We did get a lot of attention because walking is just not done in LA but we found that we got to see the best of the area that way - cheaper and better than hiring a car to sit in crazy LA traffic. The hotel reception will give you a map when you arrive and it is so useful! The hotel itself is fantastic - the rooms well-appointed and spotless, courteous staff, great service (we used room service and the restaurant a lot) and a lovely pool area. The pool is quite small but the rooftop location is beautiful and we never found it busy. There is also a rooftop tennis court that we took full advantage of. I would recommend this hotel for couples and friends rather than families perhaps, because of the quietly luxurious and quite formal ambience. The hotel also attracts celebrities, as we found when we were there. I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Definately Not Handicap Accessible
Karen Jul 9, 2009
The hotel was beautiful and centrally located to the attractions we were interested in. My reservation was made for 3 people ... to include a queen size bed and sleeper sofa. The reservation was also made for handicap accessible. Upon arrival, we discovered the room did not include a sleeper sofa and when asked about a rollaway, the manager was argumenative. The room all together was not handicap accessible, either was the pool. We will not stay at this hotel again. We do not recommend this hotel for those requesting handicap access.

Pretty rooms, horrible service
Krissy May 28, 2009
The hotel rooms were beautiful. However, the service is HORRIBLE!!! I had to call the front desk and guest services 4 times ... just to get a cup of tea (it took over an hour). The hotel itself is not as big as the website makes it out to be. Be aware of the $30 parking per night you have to pay, also, this does not guarantee a parking spot. In addition a $300 hold on your card for any thing you may incur or break in the room is also required.

Langlord May 15, 2009
We used this Hotel for the last night of our 10 day trip. The hotel is just off the main strip so is nice and quite yet ... close to everything you want. All the rooms are a very good size and well presented. The small pool on the roof is the perfect place to relax with fantastic views across LA. The exterior could do with a lick of paint but thats the only critism I can make. The best way to sum it up is we wish we had stayed longer.

Stay somewhere different
Cynthia Oct 3, 2008
If you are travelling to LA and want to break away from the standard high-rise boring hotel, try LeMontrose Suites. Location ... was in a beautiful section of West Hollywood, easy for walking or a short cab ride to tons of food, drink and shopping options. Room was beautiful and a good size. Restaurant/Room Service food was excellent. But nothing tops the rooftop pool and tennis court, which couldn't have been more fun. It might be a bit of a splurge for some, but was well worth it. We couldn't have had a better time.

Joseph Jun 19, 2008
I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with my wife when we went to LA to visit my sister and friends. The hotel is in a nice ... quiet neighborhood that's very close to shopping on Melrose and Robertson Blvd and the bars on Sunset. We had a car which you need if you're in LA and it was very easy to get to everywhere we wanted to go. The staff was nice and we loved the fireplace in the room. I also liked the fact that the room had a sofa and armchair. Our first day in we were exhausted from the airport and rental car agency and after we checked into the hotel we asked a porter if there were any good places to eat (my wife is vegetarian). He suggested a place 2 blocks away and we had a wonderful meal. It was a great way to start our time in LA. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location, contemporary decor
Rhonda Apr 20, 2008
Our first day, I was a little less satisfied with the demeanor of our check in staff. I liked the layout, size and decor of ... the room, however, there was not enough ventilation in the bathroom/dressing area. Would have liked an in-room coffee pot (there was room on the counter in the kitchenette)and the parking fees were on the high side with no alternative street parkign. Also, our room was above the entry door into the hotel and it was very noisy at night. I had to put on the air conditioner to drown out the noise. Loved the cookies that were provided on our last night. I liked the larger than normal bathroom with a separate counter and mirror in the dressing area. Also, enjoyed the slippers that were provided along with the robe. Had to ask for a suitcase stand. This should be standard in the room. Loved the view from top of hotel of city and the pool and tennis courts atop the hotel. Liked the proximity to clubs, shops and restaurants from hotel.
