Very impressed with this hotel and staff
Local Traveler Jan 18, 2010
I was VERY impressed with the design, layout, and cleanliness of this hotel. I usually say "seen one hotel you've seen them ... all". This one is a notch above. The hotel staff and cleaning staff were very professional, courteous, and helpful. We had several "unusual" requests and the staff were not flustered at all and were very helpful. The view is wonderful. The breakfast very nice. We had a car and didn't mind paying for the garage. I would definitely stay at the Double Tree Guest Suites again. Next time, I'd take advantage of the pool and workout room - they looked great. The BED - oh the bed...the best bed I've ever slept in at a hotel.

Hotel stay review

I was in Boston with my son to attend the winter classic hockey game. I was pleasantly surprised to find out the hotel had a ... shuttle bus that transported us from the hotel close to the game which was free. On one occasion the bus was late to pick us up and we had to get a taxi back to the hotel. When we informed the hotel staff about the bus they provided us which a complimentary breakfast the next day to compensate. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Although the location is little bit far from metro and downtown, they provide very convinient shuttle to every important place you may want to go. Although I had the experience of living in five star hotel, but among all staying, this one is the best one I ever had.

Please verify the $30.00 per day to park on the hotel property before renting a car. Ask about their free shuttle service. ... Traffic is horrible. GPS confusing. I was a little disappointed to find out on our 4th day about the free shuttle and was not informed about the shuttle at check in.

Convenient location, walking distance to Harvard Square. Parking is expensive $30/day, but relatively secure and attached to ... hotel. Service in Terrace Restaurant very slow, not particularly good or friendly. Food okay, but they spend more time on presentation than easy to eat, and portions small for price. Simply Amazing
Andrew Sep 19, 2009
Once you stay in a suite, you may never want to live in a regular hotel room again. It might be because I'm from New York ... City and I'm used to cramped spaces, but this hotel room felt so spacious and well furnished. It was nice to have a living room in a hotel, even if we didn't use it to its max. There also a mini fridge and a microwave which is great for left overs and cheap midnight snacks. For extra cold drinks, I'd recommend getting some ice and putting in in the plastic chest inside the fridge. One caveat, the hotel is place near a weird road so walking anywhere is not recommended. Keep in mind that they do have a shuttle but we used cabs frequently. Make sure they don't cheat you by taking the long way around.

Nice hotel in an okay location
Mom of toddler Aug 9, 2009
We had reserved a suite, but were given a single room with balcony instead at check-in without being asked. They were happy ... to change our room to a suite (it was w/o a balcony but with a better view), but it took forever to get the new keys, almost 1/2 an hour. The hotel was very clean, and the suite had lots of room, so it was easy to set up a travel crib for our son. The elevators were fast which was nice because some places have very slow elevators... The in-hotel food options were expensive, and it's not very close to other options. But, we ordered room service and the food was very good although expensive. We also drove to a convenience store and kept a bit of food in the mini-fridge which had plenty of space. We didn't try their shuttle service, but the $30/night parking fee includes unlimited exits if you want to park where you're going. It was also a very nice 30 minute walk along the river to Harvard Square. We would stay here again.
